I had no idea what this book was about so I read a few reviews and from the author. The story is based upon a true story of friends of hers and it was written to help people address these kinds of issues and how to get past them.

The book is not pornography.

I recall one of my favorite books as a kid was Papillon. I realize today he likely made some of it up but I read it 2-3 times. I believe the first time was Junior High. I even did a report on it.

I have no doubt the prudes would find it highly offensive today also.

I don't recall the town, but this was actually done in the not-too-distant past -- parents took over the meeting and ran the school board out and elected a whole new board.
