More lies from the anti-gun extremists….

Militias are an obsolete concept. We have professional police and armies now, and we are better off for it.

The notion that crazy people should be running around with guns because they constitute a militia is crazy.
So now you like the racist police that hunt down and murder black people?

That is your Opinion , we trained up & got so Squared away that our Best Infantry had better skills than your average California Guard Unit .

We already lock up 2 million people. Locking up everyone you don't like isn't an answer.

The Europeans have figured this out. They lock up very few people AND they don't let people have guns.
And Europe has more gun crimes now, than before they banned guns.

In the 25 years prior to Australia's gun ban, there were 3 mass shootings. In the 25 years since their gun ban, there have been 6. Great results...lol

Professional police departments that have no legal responsibility to protect any individual. The courts have ruled that their responsibility is to protect society at large. As for the military, aren't you one of the ones that is always complaining that our military is fighting places it shouldn't? If we had the small 1850, 1914 or 1938 sized military it wouldn't be available to fight in other countries. You can't have it both ways.

That's ummmm... fucking retarded.
The politicians are going to get us into unncesssary wars no matter what the size of the military.

The War of 1812, Mexican American War, Spanish-AMerican War, and my personal favorite - the Philippine War, were fought with volunteer militias.

Um no , they were US Army and US NAVY ( think Maine Crew ) US Cavalry augmented by Militiamen & what later became National Guardsmen

Wrong again. When the war with Spain broke out, volunteer militia companies were organized, sent over and more of them died of disease than bullets.

So the lack of a professional Army doesn't stop the Politicians from being stupid.

Wrong again the Rough Riders were regular Army and many won Service Medals , the NAVY was US NAVY , we did not round up conscripts or California Militia

Ever heard of the unorganized militia? Has no connect with the federal government.
Suicide is already illegal
Criminals killing criminals is illegal
Wrong.

Ever hear of Presser v. Illinois (1886).

Only state governments and the Federal government have the authority to establish militia.

There is no ‘unorganized militia’ – the notion is ignorant nonsense.

As usual, you speak from ignorance or dishonesty, as Federal law says otherwise.
Let us know which.

Militia is Unorganized until it is Activated and conscripted , Unorganized Militiamen were rounded up after Pearl Harbor and put into duty as ( Shore Patrol / Beach Watch ) ( Observer Corps ) ( Guard Duty at strategic Facilities like Dams , Factories and infrastructure . But quickly ( Months ) they were integrated into or supplanted by National Guard or Regular Military

(b) The classes of the militia are—

(1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and

(2) the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.

No, they were volunteers organized by Teddy Roosevelt.

The Rough Riders was a nickname given to the 1st United States Volunteer Cavalry, one of three such regiments raised in 1898 for the Spanish–American War and the only one to see combat. The United States Army was small, understaffed, and disorganized in comparison to its status during the American Civil War roughly thirty years prior. Following the sinking of USS Maine, President William McKinley needed to muster a strong ground force swiftly, which he did by calling for 125,000 volunteers to assist in the war. The U.S. had gone to war in opposition to Spanish colonial policies in Cuba, which was then torn by a rebellion.[1] The regiment was also nicknamed "Wood's Weary Walkers" for its first commander, Colonel Leonard Wood. This reflected their dissatisfaction that despite being cavalry, they ended up fighting in Cuba as infantry, since their horses were not sent there with them.

They also have a society where suicide is considered acceptable...

Suicide is an absolute right.

In fact it is the ultimate right.

If you cannot have the freedom to decide whether you live or die then you have no freedom.
