More Hope and Change

Just add it to the ever growing list of broken promised "change".:eusa_whistle:

The "yes we can" slogan worked well but they left out the rest of it. What was really being said was "yeas we can, fool these fools".

Another step taken toward unding the real meaning of Hope and Change. This is less amusing with every passing day.

Does anyone know anybody who has lost a job and is having trouble finding another one?

I do.
A recession is when your neighbor loses his job. A depression is when you lose yours. And recovery is when Barack Obama loses his.

This gov more and more resembles Animal Farm.

Indeed, with shades of 1984. It's happening here.

Of course, if any Liberal says that about the Bush Administration you'd go ape shit about how wrong they are. :eusa_eh:
I wouldn't.

I would go, "Your 'mom the other kid did it too' argument completely belies the 'change' mantra. Why do you lower the bar so much for Obama, by comparing him to Bush? Isn't it supposed to be better now? Wasn't there supposed to be change?"

Like I just did.

As we all know, I don't talk like that.... :eusa_whistle:

But, I'm still laughing at that new Obama bumper sticker!

More Hope and Change

Hope and Change....

Hmmmm....

What can be said for people who actually fall for that???? :eusa_shhh:

You mean like the people who fall for slogans on both sides during each election season?

If McCain was elected, I'm sure we'd hear Maverick, Country First, A Leader You Can Believe In, A Cause Greater Than Itself, and "Reform, Prosperity, Peace" a couple hundred thousands more times. :eusa_eh:

You're talking to a guy who believes Obama isn't that much of a Liberal but he was still a better choice then McCain/Palin. So you can try that elsewhere.

I don't see any Bush Administration. When do you think you'll be able to let that go?

Really? Well Obama could of fooled me with plenty of his actions so far then because I see some of the exact stuff the Bush Administration did. :eusa_eh:

Only difference between then and now is that it's a Democrat in charge so Republicans on this board are in full "this Government is turning us into Socialism" mode. Catch up on the time Republicans, plenty of Liberals have said the same thing about Bush except replace Socialist with Fascist over since 9/11.

You should try the regurgitated, parroted blather of "well whatta bout Booooosh!!!" elsewhere then.

You're so smart, grasshopper. So where are the 'quotes' of those that supported Bush's spending and suspension of constitutional rights? I mean, you must have what you are asserting, right?

It only goes to show the hypocrisy of the right. Where was the right's bitching the last eight years about Bush? Oh right, they didn't. They only sold him out towards the end in a lame attempt to win the 2008 election by acting like they didn't support him for 8 years.

Explain that more clearly for a moment please. For whatever reason, I'm not understanding what you're asking of me. You want 'quotes' of those that supported Bush's spending and suspension of constitutional rights in general, from this board, or what?

Yes, and it's disturbing to see the "save and create new jobs" promises become faint memories.

Can't speak for anyone else, but it's a damn shame there aren't any Biz quotes in the USMB archives.

Yes, quotes for those supporting the spending and suspension of constitutional rights while Bush presided.

More regurgitated, parroted blather. You really should get some new material. Preferably something original. And you might check your facts as well, Bush's approval rating was low from 2005 on. "The right" didn't turn on him, it took them quite some time to finally believe that he "turned" on them.

You continue to deflect and dissemble, trying to turn any Obama thread into a Bush thread. This is because you cannot defend the policies of this menstruation. Try to stick to the topic, which is what THIS current government is doing.

It's their best defense, ya know.

Yes, quotes for those supporting the spending and suspension of constitutional rights while Bush presided.

Support for the Patriot Act - Violation of Constitutional Rights

Support for No Child Left Behind - Wasteful spending since Bush cut the actual amount needed in the first place for even it to succeed. There was no point in having another underfunded failure of a program in place. As someone who just went through four years of high school with No Child Left Behind in full effect, I know first hand what a failure it is.

Real ID Act - Violation of Constitutional Rights

Department of Homeland Security -
As of 2008 have wasted $15 billion in contracts. The department was blamed for up to $2 billion of waste and fraud after audits by the Government Accountability Office revealed widespread misuse of government credit cards by DHS employees, with purchases including beer brewing kits, $70,000 of plastic dog booties that were later deemed unusable, boats purchased at double the retail price (many of which later could not be found), and iPods ostensibly for use in "data storage".

ADVISE (Data Mining)

Also, it reminds me so much of Big Brother from 1984, and should worry anyone against Government Expansion as it became the 3rd largest cabinet department in such a small amount of time.

The Iran Freedom and Support Act of 2005 - Wasteful Spending

Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act - This alone should make any eyebrows raise: The credit card industry spent more than $100 million lobbying for the bill over the course of eight years.

Class Action Fairness Act of 2005 - For the American Corporation and against the American people.

The support for any of these Acts is either support for Wasteful spending or against Constitutional Rights.
