More evidence that Boehner is worst Speaker ever.

What vital services have been lost due to this partial shutdown?

Off the top of my head?

Routine maintenance and repair.

Expansion and improvement.

But those are just guesses.

Airlines have their own maintenance and repairs crews they don't need the FAA for that. Airports are typically county or state owned, so again, we don't need the FAA for that either. I don't see how any of these services that are being temporarily suspended shouldn't be dealt with at the state or private level to begin with.

It's rare times like these where we get to see just how unnecessary so many of these "vital" services really are.

the republican stupidity has become so entrenched that they have no shred of integrity left.

I find myself not even wanting to discuss any of these issues with them anymore.

Its like trying to reason with an insane person who has been on the wrong medication for six months.

Exactly correct. From the posters who don't have a clue as to the facts, to the deflection artists, like in this thread, to the thread derailers, who do anything they can to muddy the water, this place has become overrun with immature hacks.

Just because they don't happen to agree does not mean they are deflecting or derailing the topic. They're simply pointing out we had it much worse with Ms. Clueless Prissy Britches Pelosi.

I wonder how her accomplishments in life stack up to........let's say anyone here running her down. :eusa_whistle:

I am perfectly confident in my life's accomplishments, but it is really a moot point. However, the same could be asked of those 'running down' Boehner. Put that in your whistle...and blow.

I would not argue with you on that one...it is a sword that is sharp on both sides of the blade.

The man is simply incompetent at his job. Last week he broght a bill to a vote before he had the votes, and he lost, which is embarrassing for any Speaker.

Now, he can't even keep vital services running:

FAA faces partial shutdown

The Federal Aviation Administration faced a partial shutdown Saturday morning as Congress adjourned Friday without approving a routine stop-gap funding measure amid partisan acrimony.

More than 4,000 FAA workers, 1,000 of them in the Washington region, and tens of thousands of airport construction workers under FAA contract faced immediate furlough. The nation’s air travel system will not be affected, with air traffic controllers remaining on the job and airline operations continuing as normal.

Can someone tell him we don't need anymore evidence already?

We need a real leader like Nancy Pelosi back, huh?
She was able to competently pass the routine, mundane bills that keep the country running.

Or do you consider the FAA a Socialist plot?

She shoved the healthcare bill down our throats. Then she voted

* NO on the Border Security Bill
* NO on making the Republican tax cuts permanent
* NO on eliminating the marriage penalty
* NO on eliminating the death tax
* NO on creating Health Savings Accounts
* NO on the Defense of Marriage Act
* NO on the 1996 Welfare Reform Law (and NO on its reauthorization)
* NO on protecting the Pledge of Allegiance
* NO on banning partial-birth abortion
* NO on requiring a photo I.D. to ensure only legal voters vote
* NO on the Patriot Act
* NO on authorizing domestic tracking of terrorists
* NO on military tribunals and new interrogation rules for terrorist detainees

But this isn't about her shitty leadership, it's about Boehner - so, carry on.

When the speaker votes they are representing their constintuencies, and I can assure you Congresswoman Pelosi represented hers to perfection. You may not agree with those votes, but they are not performance indicators.

Now, only if the Dept. of Education faced a total shutdown.........

The Speaker of the House votes as a representative of HER consitituents?
So the Speaker of the House (Pelosi, or whomever), voted with the best interests of San Franciscans at heart, while seated in Washington, D.C. ?
Are you freaking high on meth?

Yeah - seriously. What a miserable failure that is.

Why would you attack me personally? I realize that turbo infueled vitriol is the Rep producer on USMB, but I refuse to play.

Yes, the Speaker still represents his/her district. The Speaker need not be an elected member of Congress, but all have been.

Well, you must be on something to post a blatant lie as you did

The Speaker of the House, in that role, represents the House of Representatives, and the interests of the American people. Pelosi's voting record - as I pointed out - does not represent the overwhelming majority of the American people. She voted, according to lobby checks received. The jist of this thread was to discredit Boehner - who in no way, has performed as miserably as his predecessor.

Need more clairification?

She votes as a representative of her district. If her district is not satisfied with her vote......she gets voted out

That's what happened to Newt

I am just wondering where my accuser is. I was called a liar, a drug addict and basically stupid. Now that I have, in an embarassingly easy fashion, discredited said accusations I am left listening to crickets.

Minions.
