What vital services have been lost due to this partial shutdown?
Off the top of my head?
Routine maintenance and repair.
Expansion and improvement.
But those are just guesses.
Airlines have their own maintenance and repairs crews they don't need the FAA for that. Airports are typically county or state owned, so again, we don't need the FAA for that either. I don't see how any of these services that are being temporarily suspended shouldn't be dealt with at the state or private level to begin with.
It's rare times like these where we get to see just how unnecessary so many of these "vital" services really are.
