Mitt's speech

Mittens speech was by far the best of the convention. Rubio has no chops, not yet anyways, Christie would eat his lunch, quite literately.

I guess we heard some policy talking points, which was sorely needed after days of a bunch of fluff. Im not sure this was the bang up job the GOP needed to push to an easy victory in November.

Now all eyes on Charlotte and the DNC. Lets see if the Democrats can tell less lies than what we just witnessed over the past three days and set forth some policy ideas that will get us on track.

I only just finished watching Romney's acceptance speech.

Funny, for a Republican acceptance, I'm surprised he did not mention the troops. Not once. He mentioned Seal team 6, who killed Bin Laden, but he did not give any mention of the troops. That's disappointing to me.

Nice story about his mom and dad, though.

In all, I felt his speech was an opportunity to say, "The other guy failed, so here's what I'm going to do", but he didn't do any of that. He just said, "I'll create 12 million jobs". Well, that's a nice number, but HOW does he figure on doing that?

A lot of platitudes but no specifics on anything. And the troops deserve mention, since there are still a whole bunch of them in the middle of a war that began nearly 11 years ago.

Policy ideas = coochie and buttfucking rights.

They get zero % of the black vote, but play "James Brown" while the balloons fall?

so what you are stating is that no black person would vote for the white guy if there was a black guy to vote for.

Using the same logic why would a white person vote for the black guy?

Again, who are the racists?

And unlike the President, I have a plan to create 12 million new jobs. It has 5 steps.
First, by 2020, North America will be energy independent by taking full advantage of our oil and coal and gas and nuclear and renewables.

Second, we will give our fellow citizens the skills they need for the jobs of today and the careers of tomorrow. When it comes to the school your child will attend, every parent should have a choice, and every child should have a chance.

Third, we will make trade work for America by forging new trade agreements. And when nations cheat in trade, there will be unmistakable consequences.

Fourth, to assure every entrepreneur and every job creator that their investments in America will not vanish as have those in Greece, we will cut the deficit and put America on track to a balanced budget.

And fifth, we will champion SMALL businesses, America's engine of job growth. That means reducing taxes on business, not raising them. It means simplifying and modernizing the regulations that hurt small business the most. And it means that we must rein in the skyrocketing cost of healthcare by repealing and replacing Obamacare.

People are talking more this morning about how weird Clint Eastwood was and how impressed they were with Rubio.

And when people are talking about the opening acts more than the headliner, you know you have a problem.

You spelled libtard incorrectly there.

Visit RCP, a pretty right wing website. The over all pundit reaction was underwealming.

Romney's biggest problem from day one is that except for his fellow Mormons, no one really likes him for him.

The base desperately flopped around looking for ANY alternative before being bullied into selecting him. And even though he's been the nominee for months now, there's just no real enthusiasm.

The read I get from even this board, is that most conservatives would have been happier with just about anyone else.

But you'll all dutifully go to the polls and vote for him because he's not Obama.

I refuse to.

And when he loses, you'll tell yourself despite all his pandering, he lost because he wasn't a "real conservative".

Way too long. Too many mentions of Obama. Too much talking about the past.

Exactly. Why remind people what Republicans did to the country for 8 years under Bush? The problem is Mitt has stated that if people knows what his policies are, they won't vote for him.

Ask Obama. That's what he has done quite a lot of, and will most likely o again in his convention.

Now, go ahead and tell us how that's different. Go on, you know you want to.
