Millennials and Gen Z won’t have enough kids to sustain America’s population—and it’s up to immigrants to make up the baby shortfall

Do you even understand that you've compromised your rightist and capitalist priorities.
Not hardly. The right is more against increasing the population with immigration, especially the horrendous open borders illegal immigration that Joe Biden is presiding over right now.

combustion.
Millennials and Gen Z are less enthusiastic about having children than their parents. The reasons are many: financial, social, and biological, along with the preference among younger generations for “freedom.”

America’s falling fertility rates have been a cause for concern for several decades. During the Great Recession in 2008, millennials delayed marriage and having children, causing fertility rates to drop.

Then, early in the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a short-lived “baby bust,” when conceptions fell slightly. Months later, the rates rebounded but were inconsequential compared to the huge number of daily deaths.

Over the next few decades, demographers expect the population growth to decline further. But there’s one hope for increasing the U.S. population: immigrants.

A report by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released Tuesday predicts that the nation’s population will near 373 million by 2053, up by almost 3 million from CBO estimates a year ago. The difference? An increase in immigrants over the next three decades.

More, much more....

Blah, all I know is that this country (circa 1970) was a far better place to live when the population was 1/3 less than what it is today.

Yup. Let the population drop. Better for everyone except the ruling elite.

It matters because these youngins don't know what a woman is and will become 90% or higher, an all IT generation...........apparently the illegals can figure it out for themselves.

So take yer pick, we're either a nation of fagots or Mesicans.....

It was suggested that there was a shortage and that it mattered.

To me as a foreigner it doesn't matter.

Then leave the thread. You provide nothing beneficial to the conversation.

If there's any truth to that then it's on account of the right's racist bent which results in them being unable to understand that the immigrants are the equivalent of American babies being born.

Get up to speed and stop making me waste time on explaining to a poser who is pretending to not understand.

Of course you would think that. You’re a dolt.
Maybe you could (or could not) explain that. Before you do be advised that I do have degrees in Geography (population a major component) and Economics, + attended graduate school in Urban & Regional Planning.

I 'am' the conversation.

I'm the life of the conversation!

I just don't have the power or influence yet to prevent the conversation from being spammed by people like you.

No, you are a troll.

Nothing more.

^^ looks like you explained it yourself. You’ve been indoctrinated by our university public education system.

Economists are probably the least respected and dumbest, most useless people on the planet. Perhaps only surpassed by “urban planners”.

Why is having a large population good?

Negative population growth is great, but it is happening in the wrong place: first world, developed countries that can best afford to raise children. Population growth is occurring in many of the wrong places as well: third world shitholes where people don't have the money or resources to raise these large families.

The only need for an ever increasing population base is for the sustainment of socialist programs. It's a Ponzi scheme. If they were truly concerned about domestic population growth, they'd revise the divorce/family courts, and the way they treat men in such proceedings. But that won't happen. Too much money to be made...

Yes! And that's why I called you on pretending to not understand. And so all you've accomplished so far is not being able to understand that we essentially have nothing to disagree with.

Our competition will (should) be able to tell us why growth is necessary in a capitalist system. Then we'll have a debate in which we can take the same position. You, with all your credentials may even upstage me!

Just don't challenge me on my understanding of SS economics or the principles of the Laffer curve. I debated those clowns for more than 5 years on the Supplyside forum.

Fuck you, you moronic SCUMBAG. I am up to speed more than you know anything about. For your edification, illegal aliens streaming into the US now are coming from over 120 different countries, all races, and every continent on earth except Antarctica.

Even when Obama was president, and Hillary had presidential ambitions, there were sizable illegal immigrant populations here. You show ignorance of US immigration matters, and would probably be better off if you stuck to matters concerning your own country, whatever that is.
