Read the Preamble. The sum total of the intent of the Constitution is to help Americans.

"promote the General Welfare". Key word: Promote. Not provide - you will notice that the founders wrote 'provide for' when referring to defending the nation.

And... the Preamble is not the Articles that gives the Federal Government the responsibility. It is the 'why' of the Constitution..... the 'how' is the Articles.

There's a lot of things that aren't in the constitution. The CIA and FBI aren't mentioned-do you think those shouldn't be in place? How about the USPS? The interstate highway system?

And why is healthcare constitutional? Well nowhere in the constitution does it bar congress from passing it. However the bill followed the process as listed in Article 1. It was signed into law according to Article 2. In fact the only way it could be deemed unconstitutional is if the Supreme Court decides on it-which they haven't (and most likely will not).

So the question isn't whether it's constitutional or not-the real question is how is it NOT constitutional? Show me where the constitution limits the government's ability to implement this bill.
