Mexican Wall Question

The idea of a wall has to be seen as an insult, and to be told that they will be forced to pay for it would be enough to piss anybody off.

Then why does Mexico insult central and south America by having a harshly strict Southern border of its own? If you try to cross Mexicos Southern border they fuck you up.

But....libs never mention that.

What does that have to do with a dumb assed wall that won't work anyway?

Seems to me that walls have worked everywhere in the world they have been used. Why won't it work here???

Or....are you saying the world's most powerful nation of all time....cant stop some poor peasants with shovels and ladders?

You're right. We definitely need a wall between the Carolinas.
Y'all are just fucked up.

Using the $150 million in annual US aid to Mexico would be a decent start. There are of course other sources as well

After a few years, wall.

Frankly, a national ID, mandatory prosecutions of companies that hire illegals and serious reductions in welfare freebs would be more effective, and cheaper in the long run.

You could require an ID to buy so much as a candy bar.

Some walls have been effective for their intended purpose. The Great Wall of China was effective at slowing down invading armies with all their gear and supplies, but it was never intended or effective at blocking individuals or small groups like you want a wall to do. Something like the Korean DMZ might work, but it's 160 miles require about 535, 000 soldiers to maintain and patrol. Sure we could get by with less, but when you consider a border wall needing to be 2000 miles long, there wouldn't be much less. A wall might sound like a good idea until you spend 5 minutes considering what you expect it to accomplish and what it will take to do that.

150 million wouldn't even start to build and maintain an effective wall. I doubt it would be enough to even buy the land to build it on.

Serious question.
Please only well thought out serious replies.
Why specifically is the Mexican government so adamantly opposed to the USA putting up a wall to prevent illegals from entering the country?
It's obvious that the mexican government has failed for decades to make mexico a place where most mexicans want to live. Why so?
If for some reason millions of Canadians started crossing into the US illegally and the US government said "we must put a stop to it by building a wall" would the Canadian government be adamantly opposed to the wall?
If so why so?

The difference is the level of sophistication of the countries. Mexico is a poor nation, not including cartel involvement, whereas Canada is nearly equal to the U.S. There are high level professional positions just like there are in the U.S. either through technology or natural resources. Education opportunities abound in Canada and here, but not in Mexico. Mexican physicians and similar fields are almost all U.S. educated and trained, then they go back to Mexico to practice, earn a good living, and escape the IRS structure here. With Canada and the U.S. being on fairly equal footing from a societal perspective there'd be no reason to build a wall. If you are a Canadian citizen and you want to maintain that status and all that goes along with it, there are specific guidelines regarding how many days you can be here in the States. It's not like citizens fleeing poverty and the associated entrapments thereof are an issue between our two counties like they are with Mexico.

"$150 million"

At that rate it takes at least 167 years to fund it, not even counting maintenance. And of course all those construction workers and road builders needed for access to places there are no roads on private property, just work for free until that happens, living on unicorn meat and pixie dust.

:lmao:

Oh the moronity....

Several reasons. First, its openly, xenophobically anti-mexican. And Mexico eats enough shit from the US for 3 countries.

Second, illegals are a huge industry in Mexico. In terms of economic impact, money sent by Mexican nationals in the US to mexico is second only to oil in the country and ahead of even tourism.

Third, walls make it much more likely that illegals will stay. And Mexico doesn't want to lose the citizens. They would much prefer the arrangement that they had with the US for most of the first half of the last century: seasonal migrant labor. Mexicans come to the US, work and go home. The more expensive, difficult and dangerous you make it to get into the US....the less likely Mexicans are to do that last part.

Fourth, it feeds the cartels. As the more difficult you make it, the more expensive it becomes. And the more professional coyotes charge. Meaning far more cash to criminal organizations. And they are already ludicrously powerful from all the drugs they sell a voracious US black market.

Fifth, it hurts their citizens. 60 years ago a mexican family could drive over the border, work for a season and come home. Now it costs thousands of dollars to a coyote, is dangerous, and often immensely traumatic. Its not uncommon for people who brave the trip to have PTSD's when they complete it.

Sixth, because Trump insists that Mexico is going to pay for it. Which is just thuggish horseshit. If we want the wall, we're gonna pay for it. And build it on our own territory.

(1) The biggest reason is that it is an insult. It is a large physical manifestation of the fact that Mexico is so undesirable that a wall is needed to keep its citizens from leaving.

(2) The Mexican government LOVES the fact that millions of ethnic Mexicans are living in the U.S., regardless of whether they are here legally or not. The reason is because they send hundreds of millions of dollars (i.e., hard currency) back to Mexico, where it is a significant contributor to their moribund economy.

(3) Adding to the "insult" factor is Trump's "promise" to ensure that the Mexican government pays for the wall. While sketchy on the details, if Trump is able to even create the illusion that somehow the wall is paid for by either the Mexican government or by Mexican people, it will be a huge slap in the face of the whole country.

Trump's promise to complete the Wall and to make Mexico pay for it is total nonsense, intended to get a rise out of ignorant, working-class American white men who are gullible enough to believe it. When Trump first brought this up he was talking "out of his ass," knowing that he could promise anything because he would never be elected President.

Nothing has changed. He still has no chance of being elected, and a year from now he will STILL be able to say, "If only you had elected me, everything would be wonderful now, and tourists would be trekking to Arizona and Texas to see the wonderful new Wall I would have been building!"
I would refer you to the results of today's primary in Indiana.
For you to, at this point, continue to claim Trump "has no chance of being elected" is a bit 'previous' don't you think?
Indiana is a REP winner take all state.
The mexican government is totally corrupt. It has been in the hands of the cartels for decades.
Trump KNOWS there are billions of dollars in offshore bank accounts.
Ultimately the Wall will be paid for from cartel money.
That's why there is a standing ten million dollar bounty on Trump's head offered by the mexican cartels.
Give that one a think!

Primary being the operative word.

He polls poorly with the general electorate. 'No chance' is too strong. But a poor chance is pretty accurate. He's a very weak candidate with some of the highest disapproval ratings of any major candidate in polling history and surprisingly tepid support among republicans. 1 in 4 republicans indicate they would sooner vote for Hillary than Trump.

#1 I have no idea what you are talking about. Either do you.
#2 So any country ought to allow millions of illegals in so they can work for half of what legal citizens do the job for?
So the fucking mexican government has sunk so low it depends on its citizens committing illegal acts to prop up the economy? That's pretty pathetic. "Hey kids. You all need to go out a do some stealing because us parents can't survive without it" Ya fuckijng right?
#3 You are so fucking dumb you are contradicting yourself within the same sentence!
Mexican LEGAL labor allowed into the US to pick crops are NOT the problem! It's the millions of mexicans who are totally illiterate, can't speak english, have zero skills who expect to be given free shit from the Makers in the US who are the problem.

Because they consider the Southwest to be Mexican territory and are intent upon repatriating it by re-populating it with a majority of Mexicans. Research the Reconquista Movement.
100% spot on!
The corrupt mexican government elected officials along the US border have been running on and being elected by promising their 18th century peasants that one day all of the US SE will once again belong to mexico.

Picture the city of Dallas empty of all Whites. They've all left. The city now belongs to the mexicans.
In four months the city would be worse off than Detroit and that's saying something.

"Why specifically is the Mexican government so adamantly opposed to the USA putting up a wall to prevent illegals from entering the country?"

For starters, one isn't "illegal" until found guilty in a court of law.

Otherwise, Mexico correctly perceives a "wall" to be the bigoted idiocy it in fact is.

Hard as it is for Progressives to believe, Mexico is not part of the United States.

How can it be seen as an insult? Do they NOT have a wall between themselves and Guatemala? Does Mexico care if they insult anyone from South of THEIR border?

What happens if an American illegally crosses into Mexico?
