Meet the Astroturfer Planning to Swift Boat Obama

I believe he got and took credit for this, over and over and over again. Perhaps if he hadn't flown to Afghanistan to celebrate the anniversary of killing someone it might have been a little different. His celebratory visit kinda spiked the football. :)

Spiking the football... doesn't quite measure up to the hubris of bush landing on a carrier in a flight suit and declaring major combat operations ended under a "Mission Accomplished" banner.
That only mattered to craven, naive little pantywaists who wouldn't know one end of a cannon from another like America's finest do.

Let's not get bush's hubris mixed up with supporting the troops. Two different issues.

You appear to be the confused one, Babz. Knowing the word "hubris" doesn't qualify you for mensa. And attributing hubris to President Bush doesn't make it so.

All right, then!

Liberals claim that conservatives attempt to discredit liberals by "SWIFT-BOATING".

Conservatives claim (although not recently) that liberals attempt to discredit conservatives by "BORKING".

The difference is that swift-boating is based on facts, while borking is vicious character assassination.

Nope. I know the difference between offering an opinion and presenting a hard fact. And after eight endless years of watching, listening to and reading about bush, I'm completely comfortable with opining that he was arrogant, hubristic and overconfident of his meager capabilities.

It's not character assassination if it's the truth. His take on some constitutional issues was extreme and suspect. He disagreed with a decision to strike state poll taxes (Harper v. Virginia). He disagreed with desegregating schools in D.C. (Bolling v. Sharpe). He argued there was no generalized right to privacy in the Constitution. He was so far out that six members of the GOP voted "no" for his nomination.
