Maynard G. Krebs could easily be regarded as the Founding Father of the OWS movement.

The older generation will remember him from the black & white TV show as the beatnik friend of Dobie Gillis.

Who had a severe physiological reaction whenever the word "work" was said in his presence.

I used to love that show. It's funny. At the age I was when this was on TV, Dobie looked like an older kid, his parents looked like they were ancient and Zelda just looked a little psychotic.

Now they all look young.

His goal in life was to sit around all day and beat on a set of bongos.

That's quite possible, as it was the Beatniks who'd inspired the Hippie-movement....that was much-more (socially) active!

It'll be to the OWS-movement's benefit to learn from.....
