I've met Keith Ellison. I know a lot of people who've worked with him. I see the people he's allied with, and the issues he fights for.

Therein lies the issue ... the party has been dragged so far to the left that it lost contact with middle Americans, thus losing the 2016 election and not even understanding why. As we see the population beginning to move further to the right, the gap between the left and center will only get bigger.

As for Ellison himself ... let me just provide some quotes:

Ellison began his run in Congress with great disrespect for the office of the presidency, comparing the sitting president at the time, George W. Bush, to Adolf Hitler.

In 2007, Ellison compared the 9/11 attacks to the Nazis’ false-flag Reichstag fire (which he later retracted).

In 2009, he met with Mohammed al-Hanooti — a man who calls himself the "grand mufti" of Washington, D.C., and who was identified by the FBI as a fundraiser for the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas.

In the middle of the 2014 Israel-Hamas war, Ellison demanded that the Jewish state lift its blockade of the Gaza Strip, where the jihadi organization rules with an iron-fist.

After the 2014 war, Ellison was a keynote speaker at the annual Council on American Islamic Relations banquet in Washington, D.C. Ellison has, on several occasions, advocated for CAIR. CAIR was an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism financing trial in American history. CAIR, which Ellison describes as a “civil-rights organization,” is even banned and designated as a terror group by the UAE — a Mideast Arab-Muslim country.

In the wake of 2015’s ISIS-claimed terror attack in San Bernardino, Calif., Rep. Ellison made a visit to the infamous Dar Al-Hijrah Mosque in Virginia. But not to rally all Americans together in a time of mourning; instead, he wanted to show “solidarity” with the American Muslim community. The mosque was once led by Anwar al-Awlaki, the deceased chief recruiter for al Qaeda. The same center for worship was home to two September 11 hijackers, an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombings, and Nidal Hassan, who massacred Americans at the Ft. Hood military base.

And this week, bombshell audio recording released by Steve Emerson and the Investigative Project on Terrorism revealed that Ellison appears to parrot commonly used anti-Semitic tropes concerning supposed Jewish control of U.S. foreign policy.

“The United States foreign policy in the Middle East is governed by what is good or bad through a country of 7 million people. A region of 350 million all turns on a country of 7 million. Does that make sense?” Ellison says of the state of Israel, speaking at what the IPT reports as a private fundraiser in 2010.

After initially endorsing his candidacy, the left-wing Anti-Defamation League has called his comments “disqualifying." However, Ellison's endorsement from liberal heavyweights Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. (F, 2%), and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-VT (F, 17%), remain intact.

I know a lot of people who've worked with him. I see the people he's allied with, and the issues he fights for.

He was associated with the Nation of Islam until 2006. The Nation of Islam, which could be seen as one of the more radical segments of Islam itself, aside from the extremists. And that never came up between you, Ellison, or the others whom you know who worked for him? You do realize he was a member of a sect of Islam that hated Jews, right?
