Seems pretty clear to me that Waters DOES speak for a large majority of black Americans, and that this is not good news for ANYONE. Unfortunately, and amazingly, the GOP has done virtually nothing to communicate with black Americans in an effort to improve this relationship. Why is that?

There was a time that it seemed that Democrats were losing the black vote. Then they dreamed up the idea that Katrina was a black thing. The idea came to them when that drunk Kanye West spouted off that Bush didn't care about black people. They just took it from there. Anytime some stupid asshole like Kanye or Rodney King bumps heads with whites the media uses it to make Republicans look racist. They did the same thing with the Tea Party. When I saw them doing it I thought to myself, nobody will buy this. Well, obviously they did.

If this is true, and you may well be right, it illustrates an even worse future for the GOP than I already thought.

Maxine Waters is one of the few black people in her district that can read and write, and doesn't have a criminal record...so she is the one they picked to go "represent" them in DC.

By the way..by in large..most Black people have very conservative values. As do most minorities for that matter.

What does this have to do with race. Watters is a card carrying far left wing lib who is an entrenched permanent fixture in the US House of Reps.
As long as there are enough people in her district that ignore what shes does and vote based on who she is, Watters is House member for life.
That is inexcusable. That is why term limits for members of Congress are a necessity.
membership of Congress was never intended to be a career. Back in the day, members served their country for a few years, then they went home.
The pay benefits and perks have become far too lucrative.
Members are over paid and privileged. This MUST end. Congressional pay should be cut in half. All perks should END NOW.
With the next pay raise, Senators will be over $200k per year. That is an absurd amount of money for a public servant.
