Key Senate Democrat suggests that he didn't read entire healthcare reform bill - The Hill's Blog Briefing Room

Back when I worked in laws offices, we called that "boilerplate." It's just put there because it was needed out of "legal necessity." It didn't necessarily mean ANYTHING beyond that.

So, what he's saying is, it's nothing but bureaucratic legaleze that bureacrats can use to run rampant OVER US to their heart's content, and Baucus doesn't care to be bothered by it. After all, it won't affect HIM! :eusa_snooty:

It's YOU and ME that will have to deal with that "statutory language." We will have to read it if we know what's good for us.

Don't they always tell us that IGNORANCE OF THE LAW is no excuse?

If it's not excuse for us, why the hell is it an excuse for Max Baucus?

Remember ladies and gentlement, boys and girls of all ages. NOVEMBER IS COMING! ;)

I wonder how Republicans knew the Democrats didn't read the entire bill back then. Probably because today Republicans want to vote on a bill they haven't read yet.

Thank god for archives. Where is your outrage today that they didn't read the bill and now want to vote on it?

They are not voting on the bill. They are voting on bringing the bill to the floor.

Don't worry they won't read the bill when it is drafted. Or are you suggesting Republicans all read the bills they sign? LOL

Max is exactly correct, to read and UNDERSTAND every word of the the entire healthcare system reform bill full of technical language for one person would be a Herculean effort of many years.

There is this stupid idea out there that everything must be easy-peasy or it should not be done. Well guess what reality is often NOT simple and the legislation should be able to address that legal, social and fiscal complexity.

So, actually reading the minority-supported, socialist agenda-pushing majority-opposed ACA that was publicized by Obama's pushing lies was a waste of Democrats' time, huh?!

    Bwuhahahaha.....
