I don't think it was some sinister intentional thing.

The most likely scenario is the white house is full of fucking morons that don't think about consequences or have anyone with any real intelligence making decisions.

Not compared to say the white house decades ago where everything was scrutinized and considered because safety and security of the president and the nation was paramount. Public imagine was important and staying constantly vigilant was important.

I think it all came down to someone posted something and was a dipshit that doesn't think of has any real supervision.
