Manufacturing Sector Contracts For First Time in Nearly Decade

Anyone want to take a guess where the story came from?

The CNBC story the OP's link points to was supposedly written by a Chinese woman named Yun LI, who has been with CNBC since 2015.

However, the story was originally credited to to the Xinhua News Agency, which is the official state-run press agency of the People's Republic of China. That would be "Communist China."

Look at the bottom of the page where it reads "Source(s): Xinhua News Agency"...

Isn't it funny how our own press is taking their cues from Red China? Want to know what's even funnier? Idiots in this country are going right along with it.

Can you say "collusion"?

The PMI is a broad survey of American manufacturing and is very well known.

If your argument is “it’s from the Chinese press and there’s collusion,” you know little about economics and you can’t be taken seriously.

People like the one you replied to are a waste of time.

Anyone who can say such things about honest facts of what's happening right now are the same people who said they believed the "fundamentals of the economy are sound" in the fall of 2008 when everything was crashing around us.

I’m sorry but you have zero idea what you are talking about. You might as well say the moon is made of green cheese. It would be as insightful and accurate.

Actually the manufacturing PMI in the United States is reported by Markit Economics, a British company with three offices in China..

Who of course, is using the Xinhua News Agency as their source, and being parroted by the tools at CNBC. The slowdown in manufacturing is global, not just an event occurring in this country alone. And the market here didn't drop until PMI announced what they did...

"Looks very much like a slowing global economy. At least in manufacturing. Slightly more worrying from a US standpoint was the services PMI estimate, which indicated a fall to 50.9 from 53.0 in July. Services are not a tariff story.

How did Wall Street respond? The Dow rallied 180 points form the open until the PMI numbers came out, then fell -280 points. While US bond yields actually rallied, once again the 2-10 curve inverted."

I’m sorry, but if you get mad at elites for looking down at you, this is why. Nobody who knows stuff can take you conspiracy argument seriously.

Whose "mad"? I already anticipated that you leftists would deny it, seeing as how you're sleeping in the same bed with the communists.

That's pretty much a given, isn't it? I mean blaming the US for the global manufacturing slowdown instead of China?

I’m a capitalist who understands economics and finance.

You’re a Trump worshipper who doesn’t.

Probably a "capitalist" who thought Obama's economy was the best ever.

Didn’t say that. Trump’s tax policies and deregulation have been good for the economy. His trade policies have not.

Conspiracy theories about well regarded economic data just makes you look dumb.

So his trade policies have been bad for the country but not China's trade policies.

Right. You're sounding less like a capitalist who understands economics and finance more by the minute. President Trump is ordering all U.S. companies with operations in China to begin looking for alternatives in response to retaliatory tariffs from Beijing. He did say that he was going to bring manufacturing back to the US, didn't he?

Actually I do know about economics and what I'm talking about.

I had to take economics classes for my degree in accounting/finance.

The article is very clear. You might want to read it.

The person you were replying to has no idea what they are talking about and sounds just like those who said they believed the fundamentals of our economy are sound in the fall of 2008.

They were totally lying or blind to what was happening around them. Just like the person you replied to.
