I thought the earth tilt was becoming more vertical or less inclined since the Holocene maximum of 6,000 years ago. That made the arctic 3-5c warmer then today as more of the suns energy was focused on the arctic.

The temp record is quite doubtful thanks to the well documented falsificaion of the temperature record perpetrated by Hansen et all. You also should look at the drought conditions, I think you'll be a tad surprised. The Arctic is in fact on the rebound and globally there is more ice then since 2007. It takes time for things to rebound, this is how the Earth works. Mother Natures version of immediate gratification is around 10 years.
