strong majority of Americans say Democrats should look to cooperate with President Trump to strike deals, according to the inaugural Harvard-Harris poll provided exclusively by The Hill.

The survey found that 73 percent of voters want to see Democrats work with the president, against only 27 percent who said Democrats should resist Trump’s every move.

The findings are significant as Democratic leaders in Congress are under growing pressure by their liberal base to obstruct the president's agenda. The poll shows the party is divided on how to deal with Trump: 52 percent of Democrats polled say they should cooperate with him on areas of agreement and 48 percent saying they shouldn't.

Those figures are nearly identical when the question is flipped – 68 percent of those polled say that Trump should be willing to compromise and find ways to work with Democrats in Congress. Thirty-two percent said Trump shouldn’t bend at all, even if it means finding ways to achieve his agenda without congressional approval.

It's unlikely however that the GOP will support that if they have to pay for it.

It's too late. They're in full Sabotage-Mode. It's just more hateful 'Party before Country' shite. But Trump still has to move forward. He has to go all-out trying to deliver for his supporters. They know the Democrats will try to sabotage him at every turn, but they wanna see the effort. And i think Trump will continue fighting. He's not a quitter. If he fights for his supporters, he'll be fine.

I don't think the dems will support anything that has "user fees" like toll roads/bridges. And I cannot think of any gop senator who'd vote deficit dollars for public works, not even Snowe or Collins.

What they SHOULD do now that the gop is taking on the elitist social planners in the EPA is fund some pool of "loan" money for municipalities to borrow from to bring their water/sewer into the 21st century and pay it back over 30 years. It would work with fixing dams too, although all too often those were built with federal dollars.

They looked at it, determined that "that dog don't hunt" and left the RaTz all on their own. Subsequent elections reflect that fact. Obama wanted his way or no way, so he got it. Now WE control it all. Elections have consequences - even when the media is in the bag for the other side.

My advice to Trump is... Stay calm, patient, and positive.

The Democrat sabotage will continue, but he just has to make sure he stays calm and patient. He needs to keep moving forward regardless. His supporters are counting on him. They honestly understand he won't get everything done. They know the sabotage will thwart him on some things. But if they see a sincere & aggressive effort, they'll stick with him through it all. He'll have a good chance of winning again in 2020.
