The most recent gathering of scientists at the American Geophysical Union in Washington, DC, brought deeply troubling news about the Antarctic.

Jeremy Shakun, a paleoclimatologist at Boston College, told Science that the large increase in the loss of ice mass in Antarctica in the last decade or two could already be the beginning stage of the process of collapse of the Western Antarctic Ice Sheet.

Ice loss in the Antarctic has tripled in just the last decade alone, and is currently losing 219 billion metric tons of ice annually. That number is up from 73 billion metric tons per year as of a decade ago.

Climate change is not a debatable issue.

Eastern Antarctica has always been seen as a place virtually impervious to melting, and has often been referred to as the “last bastion” of stable ice on the planet.

However, recent data has shown that a group of glaciers covering 13 percent of the coastline of that side of the frozen continent are melting from below due to warming oceans.

Can any climate change doomsday parrot explain how many vehicles were needed to be run continuously to change the climate during the last ice age? Surely we must know that.
How many factories were responsible for the little ice age in the medieval period?
Since that came after the great warming period how many coal plants were needed?

At one time the earth was a solid mass of ice and snow. At one time Wyoming was a swamp with ferns. Weather has changed for millions of years without mans interaction. It has changed during times when man had no way to impact it.

Man maybe able to alter the climate slightly but not by much. No one can say that the sun and its output does not have a much larger affect then man could ever have. For that matter Mount St.Helen had a bigger impact then man on weather.

It was a global phenomenon. At least the same warming period and cooling period was recorded in Europe and China. We have no real records from the Americas but if it affected that wide of a range it is a safe bet that it was global.

My point is that it is crazy to assume that man has that large of an impact.
The sun and and the earth have a much larger impact.
Unless you know of some plan to stop the earths rotation, the tilt, or move it closer to the sun.

Climate has been going on for millions of years and it has changed many times during that period. Man has just recently been able to have an affect of perhaps a degree or two. In the history of the planet it has seen many changes in high and low temperatures. The single second that man has been able to affect anything amounts to nothing.

Prove to me that the temperature of the earth would not be changing if man were not involved.
There were those that said we would be fighting to keep back ice sheets. There were those that claimed we would be missing parts of Florida by now.
We like to think that we are all powerful and all knowing but we are not even close.
