"Los Angeles paints its streets WHITE to beat sizzling summer heat as part of 20-year plan to combat the effects of climate change"

How long do you think that a street will remain white?
How much is it going to cost to paint all of their streets white?
Have they calculated what effect it will have on climate change?

SOOOOO, with California on the verge of financial collapse, Los Angeles as advented to spend up to $920,000,000 to paint all their roads white in the hopes that it will lower the temp around the city by 3° thinking this will not only combat global warming but is actually an effective expense of tax dollars! What it'll actually do is make the streets slippery when its raining causing a lot more rear end collisions! And in the sun, more accidents from the glare of the white light. And will need redone every time a road is resurfaced and will deteriorate in effectiveness over time as rubber from tires builds up!
Link? Last I heard, they had a substancial surpluss.

The California Public Employees’ Retirement System currently has a $153 billion unfunded liability, with only 68 percent of the assets it should have, largely because of similar, past hubris about investment returns.

Borenstein: CalPERS about to bury taxpayers in more debt

And unlike southern red States, California doesn't take more than the citizens pay.

I am sure that the "southern red states" would love to deport their worthless Democrats to CA

I wonder if they thought this through...

A little oil on the paint and water makes a nice skid pad.. You have reduced traction and it has much smaller pours so anything on the paint will be like ice skating.

What does your nonsensical claim have to do with the $153 billion hole in their pension system?

It's like trying to talk to kids that still think their 'magic decoder ring' is real.

I agree, warmist idiots are very immature.
I'm sure their fast choo-choo and white paint will save the planet.

But praying to your magic Ginn will save your soul.

And praying to Gaia will save the planet........

You can't find a legitimate false god so you make one up. I'm sure it soothes your psyche but it is a fallacious non argument. Why so hard to just defend your chosen deity.

I bet you're right...they probably haven't thought of that.
You should write a letter before millions of citizens are put at risk.

California takes the responsible approach by not taking from us.

btw, California's financial problems stem from tax reduction, namely prop 13.

That can't be right...Paul Ryan told me that cutting taxes showers us all in wealth.

How could those California Lefties cock that up?

If they took the responsible approach, they would have balanced obligations a bit better with assets than they do.

$153 billion in the hole is hugely irresponsible.

When this reduces suffering from heat, vehicle heat damage, lowers cooling, lighting bills, extends life of streets & increases safety It would be hilarious if LA patents this idea so when Texans come begging to do it, they have to pay LA, CA. - LOL (Lots Of Loot)
