"... like forcing Jews into nazi ovens"

It wasn't a polish camp, moron. It was a nazi camp or is gitmo Cuban you retard?

Ummmm, maybe you could take one course in history.... just one. How about a book? No, not See Spot Run but a real book.
They were Nazi death camps in Poland also referred to as Polish death camps.

Doesn't mean that label comes without controversy as both Poland and Israel have discouraged the use of that sobriquet.

Stupid comparison, but will he be given the pass Obama got for calling the Nazi death camps in Poland "Polish death camps"?

I could not believe the sleazy preezy said something that stupid! Of course he did. There is nothing so stupid that it would not fall out of obama's mouth. I had to look it up.

He pissed off Poland like he pissed off everyone else.

The White House seemed blindsided by the sulfurous reaction of Mr. Tusk, as well as that of Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, who said in a Twitter message that the White House should “apologize for this outrageous error.”

There were 1,600+ KZs spread throughout "Großgermania", and more than 50% of them were on polish territory. That is FACT.

What's the problem, folks?

Obama Misspoke On 'Polish Death Camp,' Says White House

AP/The Huffington Post | Posted: 05/29/2012 11:11 pm Updated: 05/30/2012 2:10 pm

WASHINGTON -- The White House said President Barack Obama misspoke on Tuesday when he referred to a "Polish death camp" while honoring a Polish war hero.

The president's remark had drawn immediate complaints from Poles who said Obama should have called it a "German death camp in Nazi-occupied Poland," to distinguish the perpetrators from the location. Polish Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski called it a matter of "ignorance and incompetence."

Obama made the comment while awarding the Medal of Freedom to Jan Karski, a resistance fighter against the Nazi occupation of Poland during World War II. Karski died in 2000.

During an East Room ceremony honoring 13 Medal of Freedom recipients, Obama said that Karski "served as a courier for the Polish resistance during the darkest days of World War II. Before one trip across enemy lines, resistance fighters told him that Jews were being murdered on a massive scale and smuggled him into the Warsaw Ghetto and a Polish death camp to see for himself. Jan took that information to President Franklin Roosevelt, giving one of the first accounts of the Holocaust and imploring to the world to take action."

Sikorski tweeted that the White House would apologize for "this outrageous error" and that Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk would address the matter on Wednesday.

"It's a pity that such a dignified ceremony was overshadowed by ignorance and incompetence."

Alex Storozynski, president of the Kosciuszko Foundation, said Obama's comment "shocked the Poles present at the White House and those watching on C-SPAN. ... Karski would have cringed if he heard this."

Obama Misspoke On 'Polish Death Camp,' Says White House

================================

The verbiage that the President used implied that the death camps situated on Polish soil where run by Poles, not the Germans, operating on captured territory.

This rightly pissed off the Poles, and they were quick to jump in his face over it.

Skimming through a variety of Google search results, I see that the White House issued a statement which says that the President 'misspoke', but I have yet to see anything akin to an actual Apology.

Although I confess that I haven't looked very hard.

On a similar note I recommend a great book by Christopher R. Browning called, Ordinary Men: Reserve Police Battalion 101 and the Final Solution in Poland.
He does a great job of documenting as a historian/sociologist the events surrounding this well documented unit (one of the only units so documented that survived the war). He does not make excuses for the men in the unit or their actions, he simply relates what happened.
I'll warn you it's graphic and can be a very emotionally difficult read for many.

Tony Perkins: Christians forced to bake cakes for gays like forcing Jews into Nazi ovens

Another religious right leader invoked Holocaust imagery to complain about a recent civil rights ruling in Colorado.

Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, spoke Thursday with the attorney of a baker who lost his court battle to refuse service to LGBT customers who ordered cakes to celebrate their legal same-sex marriages.

The state’s Civil Rights Commission last week upheld an administrative judge’s finding that Christian bakery owner Jack Phillips had violated Colorado’s anti-discrimination statutes.

Attorney Nicolle Martin, of the Alliance Defending Freedom, told Perkins the ruling was part of an ongoing “witch hunt” against Christians, reported Right Wing Watch.

Perkins reached for a more recent historical analogy to compare the state’s actions to Nazi Germany.

“I’m beginning to think, are re-education camps next?” Perkins wondered aloud. “When are they going to start rolling out the boxcars to start hauling off Christians?”

Anti-LGBT activist Bryan Fischer compared the ruling to the Holocaust and slavery earlier this week in a blog post.

“Meet our new overlords, the new owners of the American plantation, the gay mafia,” Fischer said. “All hail Big Gay, our new slave masters.”

What a cheap and nasty thing to compare damn near anything to the Holocaust. The drama queens like Perkins and other fake christians cheapen and demean the horrors of the Holocaust just to further their own very nazi-like agenda.

Yeah....JUST like it.

It is time for a massive suit against Perkins personally.

Get a civil injunction with a huge bond in every statement preventing him from libeling falsely.

Do it right and the plaintiffs can take over his organization just like those who went after the Aryan Christian brotherhood idiot in Idaho.

But don't expect the RWs here to hold a Republican responsible for his vile anti-Semitic remarks.
