Life in the Real America

Life out here in the real America is no picnic. Here in California, the State I was born and raised in, the homeless outnumber stray animals by a lot. Renting a studio apartment in a bad area of town will cost you $1,000 rent plus utilities will cost you another $200. As soon as minimum wage here went up to $12 an hour, so did the price of everything from a cup of coffee to toilet paper. Prices actually went up almost twice as much as the minimum wage. There are jobs available but they are all minimum wage, few are full-time, none have benefits, and the prospect of finding a job that pays enough to actually live on is almost nil. People are struggling to keep food on the table. It isn't for lack of effort on their part, I work everyday and can barely get by. The politicians are in the pockets of corporate America. They get elected, show up for the work the first day, and their first order of business is to begin planning on how to get re-elected rather than do the job they were elected to do in the first place. Add to that every one term Congressperson and Senator gets a pension and medical insurance for the rest of their lives and its a system so corrupt that many, many Americans have decided "resistance is futile" and have thrown up their hands. Donald Trump is an amazingly lucky criminal, a con man with no empathy, concern, or morals, and a master of self promotion. America needs to stop drinking his garbage laced kool aid. You want to "drain the swamp" vote in your local elections, kick your Congressperson and Senators to the curb, and try something different. I honestly fear what will happen in our Country if he is re-elected. But, here's the thing, if he is re-elected does anyone really believe it will be because of honest and fair election? If you do, I have a gold mine I'd like to sell you. Our entire social structure has been circling the toilet bowl for a very long time. Donald Trump has put it on permanent flush and is sending us the bill for the water. The rich are getting richer. They are moving into their gated communities and could care less what's happening outside the gates. Well, the poor are getting poorer, the middle class may as well be extinct or on the extinction list. At some point, the not rich people in this Country are going to figure out there are a lot more of us than there are of them and come knocking on their front doors even in their gated communities. At that point, all bets are off. God have mercy on this Country and the monster it has become!

It's interesting how you describe life in Democrat-run California as DisneyHell, yet dump on Trump, who has actually managed to improve several matters both foreign and domestic in spite of the Democrats and their so-called "Republican" minions.

Be careful what door you knock on.
If I remember right, California went blue in about 1992 for a good reason. Previously it was a solid red I think. But mainly I'd guess folks dump on Trump because he doesn't act like he is the President for all Americans, but rather the Republican President who, instead of trying to set the State on it's feet, does a Snidely Whiplash kneecap hit instead while blaming Democrats in general and Obama/Clinton/Pelosi in particular. And since he is such a vindictive little man controlled by whims, I doubt California will go red anytime soon. The effort to reduce carbon emissions alone guarantees their place at the top of Trump's Shit List

He is a President of the United States dealing with a nefarious domestic enemy that has unmasked itself.

California needs to inflate wages in order to inflate revenues to pay for their largess, not the least of which is their perpetually insolvent pension funds and paying out benefits to retirees that are so high they break IRS pension rules so they fund around the pensions through other programs. But hey, who cares as long as they can have their high speed rail to nowhere and global warming satellites.

Domestic enemy? Nefarious? Aw billy!

Incompetent corrupt Democrats run the government in Commie California and they allow illegals to flood in and then you wonder why things are so fucked up?????? LOL!

The best way not to be poor is not to help elect Liberals that screw up the economy with failed Liberal policies.

Move out of CA

Some people are dumb enough to pay a million dollars for a 1200 sf ranch, the rest of us don't live in CA

It is too bad you don’t know how to utilize paragraphs. Otherwise much of your rant, I can agree with.
