Libs to Collins, vote no on Kavanaugh , or else

It seems the liberals have stooped to a new low. They are threatening to give Collin's opponent over 800,000 in campaign contributions if she gives a thumbs up to Kavanaugh. If she votes no they won't give the money to her opponent .

In mid-August, liberal activists started a crowdfunding campaign that aimed to raise $500,000 for Collins’s Democratic challenger in 2020 — a sum that it pledged to return to donors if the incumbent Republican votes “no” on Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination.

Such a donation would be illegal. They setup a GoFundMe page based on fraud.

And what "fraud" would that be, Fingerboy?

Does that sound like bribing an elected official to anyone else, or is that just me?

In order to "bribe" somebody you have to put money or something of value in their pocket.
Not necessarily,
Definition of Bribe:

persuade (someone) to act in one's favor, typically illegally or dishonestly, by a gift of money or other inducement.

That's the same thing, I accept that definition.

They're not offering the Senator a "gift of money or other inducement". Again, NOBODY gets any money. A campaign potentially might get money, not a person.

If the person is getting money from the campaign ---- they have a serious problem.
The key words is 'other inducement', it doesn't have to be money.
definition of inducement:
a thing that persuades or influences someone to do something.
The 'thing' is not paying the other candidate the 800+ thousand for a no vote.

The fraud that they are going to pay her opponent $800,000. That would be a violation of the limits on donations. So they are obviously lying about what they are planning to do with the money.

That doesn't constitute value in her pocket.

It's not that complex.

That's not what "fraud" means. "Fraud" comes in when you actually DO something with the money. Something dishonest, you know like Rump did with that fake "university". What they "plan" to do with the money is an abstract. I know you like to plug people's opinions into their mouths instead of letting them articulate them but the world just doesn't work that way.

So when they take donors' money and do something illicit with it, go git chew a Mexican judge from Indiana and sic 'em.

Wrong Obtaining funds under false pretenses is fraud. If you sell someone an insurance policy with no intention of insuring the customer's losses, you are guilty of fraud, whether you have spent the money or not.

uh HUH.

Sooooo the court has a mind-reading machine to try the case, does it?

:dig:

?

People throw their money at this candidate or that one all the time. And often because of how they voted while they were in there?

So what?

I think Collins wants to be governor anyway.

If she votes for Kavanaugh, she will lose the women's vote and the majority of independents too.

So? When did campaign funds ever get anyone elected? Does the name Hillary ring a bell?

No. It doesn't. She gets nothing either way.

both bribery and blackmail both felonies...liberals just do not have to obey the law, rosie flat out offered money to politicians to vote a certain way [I think Flake was one]

Neither bribery or blackmail is taking place.

if she votes for him, then she is out in 2020. Ha Ha.

I highly doubt it. She has had no problem getting re-elected and Maine is only marginally Democratic. She can make which ever decision she wants
