Lawrence O'Donnell offers to pay all legal/penalty costs if accusers go public

Real reporters don't pay for stories, they uncover them. Payment leads to lies and half truths.

Oh, I forgot..... This is BSNBC

Yes they do. Newscorp does, as do all their news entities.

Opinion makers and contributors are paid yes. However breaking news stories are not paid for. Lawrence wants to pay for two reasons. To be able to "break" the story and to be the responsible person for the personal destruction of a republican.

Lawrence like his network has 0 credibility. He has to buy his success. Or did you think BSNBC's ratings were in the tank because of their honesty?

Sources to develop stories are sometimes paid. Information is paid for.

Lets see how many more poor/unemployed black and white women come out of the woodwork seeking fame. I was almost ready to declare that I was the father of Anna Nicoles Baby !!,,,we have 3 now,,,,who knows, maybe we will have 7 in two weeks, maybe even one of them will be Rosie O'Donnell, or Micheal Moore.

I agree with you, to an extent, but still, don't you think its inappropriate for McDonnell to get involved, to the extent that he's prepared to get involved?

why? i think he's just putting his money where his mouth is.

it's only fair that they get to tell their side given cain is walking around saying "i heard she wasn't a very good worker"...

the pollster who saw the occurrence seems to think we should hear about it. do you think she should be penalized because cain won't release her from the confidentiality agreement?

She's not going to be penalized at all. This is going to be her golden ticket, and you know it.

As a member of the media, representing a multinational corporation, its wrong for him to directly put himself in the middle of derailing a campaign with his money.

i'm sure misogynists everywhere will agree with you. i'm sure anita hill had a big payday, too... (not!).

he isn't a reporter. he is a pundit with a show. he makes no claims, like fauxnews, that he is "fair and balanced".

i suppose that you think that passes for pithy?

yeah, but O'donnels not even an investagative jornalist, he has an editorial show, but even if he was, if he did something like this, it would be unprecedented, and definately out of bounds, interms of jornalistic integrity.

Of course he doesn't and can't make that claim. Everyone knows he is full of shit.

i remember the first few times i saw O'Butthead on MSNBC filling in for the evening hosts, I could see right thru him. I was right. he's a bigot !!!

You just mentioned someone from MSNBC and journalistic integrity. Are you sure you are alright?

But breaking this story could backfire and show that it really wasnt as serious as those opposed to Cain have been claiming, thus reinvigorating Cain's campaign

Just heard him say it on The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell. Thank you, Lawrence!

I suspect others may make similar offers.

Lawrence also mentioned that Cain requires all his campaign staff to sign confidentiality agreements.

I had to sign a confidentiality agreement when I got hired at my company! In the real world people need to sign them! You don't work so you don't know about them.

Whoa, what will the right wing do? They've been BEGGING for her to come out. Some even saying she should pay money THEN come out. And Larry O Donnell will pay for her to do it. The Right must...find...way to...smear... O Donnell [/B
]If she comes out. The Right will SMEAR her to little pieces of smear

Im torn right now.

I predicted that the media would likely pay the costs for these women to provide their story. and then some.

but the only one to openly do so is an openly declared communist.

a communist did something smart. I don't know what to think.

Let's see what she has to say. Shame she let money keep her away from the Truth.

Predictable..

lol Lawrence O' Donnell is a joke... if you can't see that you have problems

I hope that they go public with this then just to bankrupt him because it won't be cheap and it probably will be a lot more than whatever he is paid.

Sure he probably won't have to pay the amount in full but court costs will exceed what the full amount was I bet.

Even after giving the "Reverend" Al Sharpton his own show, I was surprised when MSDNC put that freak Ed Schultz back in the 8pm spot. Evidence no doubt that Larry O was tanking in at an already tanked network.

MSNBC should fire him for deliberately high jacking Cain's campaign.

They we're so virtuous, when they suspended OverBite, for donating to a campaign, now if they really have integrity they'd fire this socialist.

Cain hijacked his own campaign. He had 10 days to prep for this story and he said on O'Reilly yesterday that "he didn't anticipate the questions".

"Were you ever accused of sexual harassment"? was an unanticipated question? Really?

I thought the whole thing was very unfair, but watching Cain handle this in the way he's handling it..really shows that he isn't ready for a full on campaign. This isn't the only time he's been thrown by a "question" either..and it's been questions coming from sympathetic interviewers.

It's really amazing. His fallback to everything is "I have to analyze it".

That's nuts.
