I did that!! :)

factory farms, the condition chickens are in is truly disgusting and unnatural.
Well, it is a bit daunting to experience....if you are able..

Access to the big houses is very very restricted and requires stringent hazmat protocols of disinfectants. Packing birds in tight quarters ....'unnatural' it is.........but it is what it is in this current world of food production for the huge human populations.

And thus the spectre of disease always .....ALWAYS.....lurks because of the contagion-effect of densely packed vertebrates -- be they fish or pigs or chickens.

What happened with the nation's biggest producer --and another big one who is the major supplier for EggMcMuffins at McD's ---- has been seen before. And we'll see again.

(Personal note: In some years --depending on market and trucking costs -- most of our corn and soybean harvest will go to a big egg producer in this region.)

All done on purpose.
If Skye is alleging that these recent outbreaks of avian flue were intentionally initiated by someone for some reason, well, that is nutsocrazo.
Skye simply does not know what she is talking about.
She is silly. IMO

Do we really need all the egg producers?
Well, there really ain't that many. Not really big ones.

The capital costs, the infrastructure, the logistics, the demands of major grocery chains and commercial users of eggs and egg byproducts require an efficiency of scale that mandates concentration of producers.

Still, with these recent outbreaks we can expect to see your dozen eggs at the PigglyWiggly to go up substantially. Same too with your morning EggMcMuffin.

Betcha.
