AL-KHALIL, (PIC)-- Palestinians in large numbers on Thursday participated in the weekly sit-in to demand the release of political prisoners from PA jails in light of the claimed major progress in the reconciliation.
Protesters comprising families of prisoners and their supporters as well as human rights activists participated in the 23rd sit-in called for by the political prisoners' families committee and the league of young Muslims in the West Bank under the slogan yes to reconciliation.. no to procrastination.
Participants in the sit-in held pictures and posters of dozens of political prisoners as well as placards that condemn political detention and criticise the PA procrastination in this regard, especially after the meeting between PA President Mahmoud Abbas and the Head of Hamas's political office, Khaled Mishaal a week ago.
The demonstrators called on the PA to immediately release of all political prisoners, respect rights and freedoms and to stop the practices of its security agencies in the West Bank.
