KissMy Cash to Everyone Stimulus Plan - Who's With Me?

We are firmly in the grasp of a double dip recession. 1099 workers & small business owners who can't collect their debt are suffering the worst. There is no relief for them. Stimulus tax credits & unemployment does not apply to these folks. They are just screwed.

We need a Bush stimulus where everyone gets money, not just certain political favorite groups. If the Fed is printing free money it should go to the citizens first. After all it it the citizens who will have to pay it back. Government employees & contractors should not get the free money first.

If small business is not turning a profit then tax cuts are not helping them. We need a fast acting stimulus now. Handing out cash to everyone evenly is the fastest stimulus there is. If bureaucrats get involved you will never see a dime. If we took the $1.5 Trillion deficit money that has to be printed every year & divided it among our 300 million citizens it would be $5,000 a year each. There would be no recession or depression if that happened. Tax revenues would skyrocket.

Paying people unemployment is paying them not to work. Tax cuts only helps those who are not hurting because they are already earning enough to pay taxes. Cash to everyone is fair, helps the ones who fall through the cracks & does not reward bad behavior. Cash to everyone pay back the savers who lose value as the dollar declines in value. It will increase tax revenue faster than anything.

Did I mention it is fair to everyone?

SOoooooooo... you want to literally redistribute wealth?

Is that not what is happening already? The thing is it is only getting redistributed to certain politically favored groups. Everyone is not participating in the free money handout, but everyone is feeling the pain of high national debt, high prices & lost savings.

You tell me why a laid off 1099 worker or a unprofitable small business owner should have to bear the cost of high national debt, high prices & lost savings while he enjoys none of the free money benefits that go to special interest?

Government will just have to cut spending across the board to pay for this. Government can only spend what it earns / collects. People who will lose revenue & income because of the slashed government spending will be compensated by their $5,000 printed money stimulus. The increased economic activity from the printed money stimulus will increase government tax revenue. People will have money to spend on energy saving technology & alternative energy to offset the higher energy inflation coming at them. It will be a free-market energy solution.

Correct. Obviously it would be best if the government would cut spending and balance the budget. But if they're going to print money anyway and provide some sort of veiled 'stimulus', it would be best to just send the money directly to the citizens. Otherwise, it's just a slush fund.

Slush Fund
: a fund for bribing public officials or carrying on corruptive propaganda
: an unregulated fund often used for illicit purposes

Okay, wait a minute. We have a 1.5 trillion deficit this year, money that we're going to owe somebody. That money is already earmarked in the budget for things like defense, SS, healthcare, welfare, and so on. If you're going to shift it to a payout, then you need another 1.5 trillion in new money or else you have to cut 1.5 trillion in gov't spending somewhere. Now you're talking about a 3 trillion deficit this year instead of 1.5.

That aside, cash stimulus has never worked. Cuz it's a temporary thing, one time good deal that people use to pay down debt or save. Bush tried it twice but it's really a gimmick that does not solve the problem.

This Bush spending you speak of, was the straw that broke the camels back.

It is the main reason I left the GOP.

How the hell do you take the so called surplus money and not use it to pay down the debt?

That was the worst idea I ever heard until the new trifecta of doom spending bills came out.

PLease tell me you're kidding.

It didn't work when Bush did it.
The initial bandaide to keep the banks in money [how the fuck does that work?] kept us from going under [suposedly]
Then the next 2 didn't do anything but push the debt to an insane level.

but you honestly think it will work, this tume, cuz they will be giving us money directly?

I don't think that's what the OP is about. It's a take on the stimulus package that Obama and the Democrats pushed on the American people. If the government is going to force this garbage on us anyway, they might as well send it directly to the people. Of course the OP needs to explain exactly what he means, but that's my take.

Gimmie, gimmie, gimmie... Everybody wants a fucking handout. That's what's wrong with America today.

The deficit money is already being handed out. Don't you want your share? You certainly are going to be paying for it. At least my way you can use the extra to invest in inflation surviving ways.

Hold on thar, pardner! Yes, stimulus money is still being handed out. And if we can't stop it, the money should at least be sent directly to citizens. But that's where we part ways. The government should not be in the business of handing out money. Cut spending and stimulate growth by cutting certain (if not all) taxes. Let the market take over after that.

Using socialism to fix capitalism never works.:cuckoo:

Printing money is forced socialism. You can't save enough to retire on independent of government. With rampant inflation you can't save enough for a rainy day, start a business or buy a house. Inflation will cause you become a government Dependant.

But guess what? They are printing the money anyway & screwing everyone anyhow. Make them stop or make them pay.

And what about those that live in apartments?

Should I just ask my land lord if I can drill holes in his roof to put in solar panels?

Put $5k down on a new van that I still can't make payments on?

You didn't think this through.

Doesn't stop it from being a bad idea. imo

I laughed at KissMy's statement about 1099 workers and small business owners suffering the most. Preposterous! I have been unemployed for 15 months. I am faced with losing my unemployment (more on this in a minute) and losing my house. I have been seeking work in my own field and getting no where. I have begun seeking work in any fashion but have been getting no where. I have contemplated starting my own business, but truthfully, in regards to what I do and the surrounding economic trends, I just don't see that as being feasible.

I own a home (well the bank owns it) and I believe my responsibility is to pay that debt off. I can't sell the house. I can't rent it. I can't find a job in Hillborough County (or its surrounding area) where they claim the unemployment rate is 12% but most of us know it is much higher than that. I am at my wits end. I have come to the realization that I will have to leave the area to find work and if I do that, then, I see no way to honor my debt to the bank.

I've been using my retirement just to meet my obligations and I have had to pay penalties just to honor those obligations!

I am frustrated to no end!

Right now, I don't give a shit about small business owners! I'm worried about ME! You want me to worry about small business owners? Screw that!

I'm giving up!

Unemployment? I've been lucky that it has lasted this long. Every payment I get helps a little. But, I realize that our government can't afford to keep spending as it does. Let them end it as they should! Which, despite the fact that I am more than likely going to be forced into bankruptcy is probably a good thing. I sure don't deserve to be receiving unemployment indefinitely. It should end and it should have ended a long time ago.

I realize that the likelihood of UE being extended again is diminishing now that Republicans are in charge and they have gotten their gift of the tax cuts extended. They have done a good thing for themselves. Who can blame them? But, damn it, they should not be asking me to thank them for it.

I don't know where I am going to turn. I'm getting pissed too! Screw both parties and what they have done to this great nation!

Do I sound bitter? I should as I am.

Oh and in reference to Kissmy's stimulus plan? Kiss my... pun intended. ;) We can't afford it!

Okay, so your position is that we're redistributing wealth already, but we're doing the wrong kind of wealth redistribution?

FYI not everyone got stimulus from Bush. It phased out at higher income levels.

Try a temp service.
The jobs suck, for the most part, pay isn't great, but it tends to be more than UI.

My wife lost her job ~ 3 weeks ago, she starts a new on Monday, threw a temp srvc.

Invest your savings in tar and pitchforks. An inside man told me those are about to bubble. :eusa_shhh:

I agree. Mixing socialism with capitalism is corporatism. This is the economic system of every country in the world. It is failing everywhere. Every currency in the world is tied to the US dollar. It is and will continue to fall. I believe the long term impact will be devastating to our economy. Printing more money is not the answer.
