Jordanian's Cry for Zarakawi's Head

AMMAN, Jordan - Hundreds of angry Jordanians rallied Thursday outside one of three U.S.-based hotels attacked by suicide bombers, shouting, “Burn in hell, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi!” — a reference to the leader of Al-Qaida in Iraq, the terrorist group tied to the blasts that killed at least 56 people.

The protest was organized by Jordan’s 14 professional and trade unions — made up of both hard-line Islamic groups and leftist political organizations — traditionally vocal critics of Abdullah’s moderate and pro-Western policies.

Meanwhile, U.S. intelligence officials told NBC News on Thursday that Jordan intelligence believes the attackers were driven across the border from Iraq a day or two before the bombings.

“It is their operating theory that the suicide bombers were trained in Iraq and driven across the border to Jordan,” the official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said. However, the official cautioned against assuming that just because the bombers were trained in Iraq they were of Iraqi origin.

However, a top security official said one of the bombers spoke with an Iraqi accent. The middle-aged man was stopped by suspicious Grand Hyatt hotel security before detonating explosives hidden under his suit, the official said

Now I may be happy over nothing here, but I do have to hand it to these people and wonder why other Muslim countries don't do the same thing? Imagine of they did? Imagine if some in our government and media, and Britain's parliament didn't fight our leaders tooth and nail who are doing everything they can to fight terrorism???

al-Zarqawi obviously is a strategic idiot. His short-term tactics may be succeeding for the moment, but his strategy appears to be backfiring.
