Run a better campaign? There isn't any amount of campaigning that would have saved Senator McCain. Heck, if he hadn't picked Sarah, he wouldn't have gotten the support he did get.

No. Senator McCain bears the responsibility because he ran. He should done whats best for the country and never been in the race to begin with.

It was the worst campaign second only to Bob Dole's (who?) mid-term Clinton campaign. Dole was a war hero who thought it was his turn and McCain was a war hero who thought it was his turn. McCain ran an incoherent and you could say timid campaign. Maybe he made a deal with democrats that he wouldn't criticize Obama or use his middle name if democrats didn't bring up his POW collaboration and his part in the Keating scandal. Republicans reluctantly supported him but without enthusiasm.

McCain is an indisputably National Hero in the way he conducted himself while in the Navy.

Absolutely no doubt about it.

McCain was a TOTAL WUSS in his Presidential Campaign against the MONUMENTAL MARXIST FRAUD !!!

As a matter of fact, indirectly, by replacing almost anyone else......McCain fucked up America !

I blame the Republican delegates--that believed that a more "moderate" supposedly conservative candidate could win.

McCain is McCain and has always been the same. But the ditto-heads that actually cast a vote for this man--as a delegate--deserve the credit for Barack Obama sitting in the oval office.

And the ONLY person that saved John McCain from a 50 state wipe-out was Sarah Palin.

You're right in one aspect. This country was voting AGAINST G.W. Bush--and because of that--two of our greatest Abe Lincoln and Ronald Reagan would have had a heck of a time beating Obama.
