So is Jindal next under the bus, or does the party listen?

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal on Monday called on Republicans to “stop being the stupid party” and make a concerted effort to reach a broader swath of voters with an inclusive economic message that pre-empts efforts to caricature the GOP as the party of the rich.

In his first interview since his party’s electoral thumping last week, Jindal urged Republicans to both reject anti-intellectualism and embrace a populist-tinged reform approach that he said would mitigate what exit polls show was one of President Barack Obama’s most effective lines of attack against Mitt Romney.

Also from the piece:

“It is no secret we had a number of Republicans damage our brand this year with offensive, bizarre comments — enough of that,” Jindal said. “It’s not going to be the last time anyone says something stupid within our party, but it can’t be tolerated within our party. We’ve also had enough of this dumbed-down conservatism. We need to stop being simplistic, we need to trust the intelligence of the American people and we need to stop insulting the intelligence of the voters.”

.

Jindall outs the thinking of GuyPinestra, freewill, LGS, Rottweiler, Uncensored, Daveman, bigrebnc, and dozens of other posters here, all the type of people Jindall believes is dumbing down the GOP.

As a true Republican, I am going to Jindall these freaks when they talk stupid.

I think it is great strategy for the GOP talking heads to continue labeling over half of the electorate as lazy and stupid. Jindal is off base.

There are definitely some poster children for Jindal's point around here. Marginalizing them will be a massive challenge for the GOP, though, since the energy from the base is being supplied by the fans of division pimps like Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, Beck, et al.

Rock and a hard place, tough one.

Indeed, Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, Beck and many of the anti-GOP wannabee cons are division pimps.

That is not the only problem. It is not that the radical fringe makes stupid comments but that the mainstream "sane" republicans are afraid to tell them to STFU

A vested, financial interest in keeping the sides apart, yet none of their followers appear to see that.

Same thing applies on the other "side", but the GOP is the party with the problems right now.

Holy hippopotamus! For the Republicans to reject anti-intellectualism would require tossing most of the social conservatives under the bus, as well as supply side economic theory and the idea that personal responsibility is required of the poor, working poor and middle class yet is irrelevant and unnecessary to the lives of Wall Street Bankers, Brokers and of course CEO's, Hedge Fund Managers and Members of Congress.

You know when LIBRUL Zombies love a republican, to run..

Bobby Jindal doesn't speak for anyone but himself.

Bobby's a ... ah...he's a ... RINO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LMAO. Watching the Republican Party move further right is funny, watching when they fall of the fringe and join the Whigs can't happen too soon. Then the party of Lincoln, TR and IKE can resirrect and get on with the people's business and the wackadoodles can run around in 18th century garb, waving the stars and bars, a cross, and of course, their AW.

Noooooo....Jindal is wrong. The GOP needs to embrace the crazy. Four more years of obstructionism, conspiracy theories and deifying the super wealthy and demonizing the working class....In fact, they should double down on it.

The "stupid party" is too busy trying to figure out how Karl Rove could have been so wrong and working up their conspiracy theories on how the awesomeness that was Mitt Romney could have been defeated....
