WASHINGTON (CNN) -- -- It's OK for Republicans to want President Obama to fail if they think he's jeopardizing the country, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal told members of his political party Tuesday night.

Gov. Bobby Jindal is offering a spirited defense of Republicans who say they want President Obama to fail.

Jindal described the premise of the question -- "Do you want the president to fail?" -- as the "latest gotcha game" being perpetrated by Democrats against Republicans.

"Make no mistake: Anything other than an immediate and compliant, 'Why no sir, I don't want the president to fail,' is treated as some sort of act of treason, civil disobedience or political obstructionism," Jindal said at a political fundraiser attended by 1,200 people. "This is political correctness run amok."

What if Obama succeeds? What if he turns the economy around and leads us into an era of unprecedented prosperity, peace, and global humanity?

I think the GOP would still want him to fail because they are just playing a political game.

If that happens, then Obama has failed because his policies arent going to do that.

Yeah WHAT IF? I mean just because there is not a SINGLE example of policy which punishes prosperity ever having promoted prosperity... in the history of HUMANITY... that's no reason to believe that IT COULDN'T HAPPEN!

I mean WHAT IF PRESIDENT HUSSEIN SPROUTS WINGS AND FLIES AROUND THE COUNTRY CRAPPING DIAMONDS ON THE POOR! Would you want him to FAIL AT THAT TOO? HELL NO! So does that mean that it's WRONG to go around telling the poor not to make their decisions based upon the unreasonable expectation that they're about to be enriched through the looming windfall from the Diamon Rain!

ROFLMNAO... you can't make this crap up.

If I posted an assertion where I stated that "LEFTISTS ARE BLINDLY ENGAGING IN CULT PERSONALITY, BASED UPON ABJECT IGNORANCE..." They'd RAISE HELL! calling me a LAIR and demanding I PROVE THAT SOME LEFTIST EVER MADE A STATEMENT WHICH PROVED THAT THEY'RE IGNORANTLY FOLLOWING BLINDLY IN A PERSONALITY CULT.

Well, Jindal screwed up his one big chance in front of a large national audience! If he wants to stay in Republican politics, he has to make it up to the Right Wing loons. So this is his latest attempt to kiss up to the Right. If this does not work, I expect he will have his lips surgically sutured to Limbaugh's ass!!

spoken like a true leftwing moonbat
well done

Not a matter of wanting, BO will fail.

His 'stimulus' was just an old Democrat wish list of things they never could get passed before, and his omibus is simply an attempt to buy votes with government givaways through massive earmarks.

I hope they all fail in these attempts to buy votes instead of doing what is right and needed.

Socialism does not lead to prosperity... Maybe for those who are on welfare but not for those who work for a living. Sorry.

Why are people stuck on this idea that Obama is socialism? HE IS NOT SOCIALIST!! even the guy that ran for pres under the socialist party platform said Obama is not socialist, doesnt seem that hard to grasp, but then again what do I and the guy that is actually part of the socialist party movement really know anyways?

So because someone says he is not a socialist, he is not a socialist???? I wish people would start judging others by their actions instead of their words.... It's embarrassing that people are still being hoodwinked because they believe whatever they are told....

Definition of Socialism... http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/socialism

It's pretty amazing that this definition of socialism is exactly what is going on....

Look, Jindal is finished in Republican politics......at least for the next several years. He should focus on being re-elected as governor of LA. He is a young kid, and maybe 10 or 15 years from now the Right will forget his forgettable performance a few weeks ago, and then maybe he can rehabilitate himself within the Republican party. Perhaps by then the Republican party will move towards the center and away from the Christian fundamentalists and extreme right where they are now located. When people like Pawlenty and Crist move up in the party, it will move more towards the center and Jindal may get another chance. The only good part of this whole story is that Palin is well and truly out of the picture!

There is absolutely NO chance of that even remotely happenning. Once the money finally starts moving in the banking system we are going into a hyper-inflationary period that will throw the country right back down into deep recession, only this time, with STAGLATION of the late 1970's.

Fortunately the Democrats are doing exactly what the Republicans did four and six years ago....being stupid, angering the electorate, and ensuring their own quick rotation out of power.

Bottom line, the Federal Government is essentially HOPELESS, no matter which party controls it. Neither side has even a REMOTE clue....

No, we would all love it if that happened. But the fact is that is not in the cards. He might stabilize things for the short term, but the debt he is creating will prevent any real long term growth.

You have to understand a few basics here. First of all, he is on track to double our debt from $10 trillion to $20 trilion in a very short time. That will create a need for much higher taxation just to pay the interest on th debt. And by the time all this comes to fruition, SS and Medicare costs will begin to escalate dramatically, forcing even greater pressure on the system and creating the need for even greater taxation.

Bush started us down this dangerous path; now Obama is seeing by how much he can outdo Bush. The long term looks bleak. I'm not talking about five years from now; I'm talking about fifteen to twenty, about the time I plan on retiring. Our kids will be paying 40% of their income in taxes. With the path we are on, there won't be any choice.

So if his failure will bring a complete change in attitude among Americans to an attitude of pay as you go and balancing the budget, revamping SS and Medicare to reduce longterm costs, then I am all for that.

Jindal is not a great prospect. Romeny possibly. Bush definitely, but he may be unelectable; it all depends upon how bad Obama does. The worse Obama does, the more appealing Bush will become.

Crist has no chance on the national level. Pawlenty possibly.

Did you practice that swill, or did it just roll off your tongue?
