We consider Paul’s letters part of the Bible and Jimmy Carter said that these verses give support to men abusing their wives. Additionally, he claimed that churches (such as The Roman Catholic Church and Southern Baptists) that interpret these verses in the Bible literally are providing support to women abuse.
