James Carville sounds the alarm as Sanders surges in primary: 'I'm scared to death' for Democrats

We didn't create that standard--you people did. Just read any discussion here about Trump not giving them what they want.

Even if the DOJ is the right way to go, that doesn't preclude a President from asking a foreign leader if they can look into the matter. Trump never demanded it, never threatened anybody, just asked for a favor. A US President has the legal ability to look into any matter of possible corruption by a former representative.

No, a potential political opponent is not the same as a political opponent. And the commies never used the word "potential" once. So why did they use political opponent? Because that was the excuse they needed to impeach the President, because even they know that it's perfectly legal for a President to look into such things.
The Dem standard was cooperation with a 4-year investigation into Presidential misconduct and finally testimony under oath by the President. That standard?

If Trump was interested in fighting corruption why was he insistent that the Ukrainians make the investigation public? That would give the subjects a heads up to start destroying evidence and would make no sense from an anti-corruption sense. Of course, if Trump was only interested in hurting Biden politically, the investigation had to be made public to be effective so then it would make sense.

The Ukraine is renown for making promises and not keeping them. Trump figured that by announcing it publicly, it would make Zelensky more likely to stick to his word. But if you want to talk about what if's, tell me why the Democrats didn't wait for Trump to actually do a quid pro quo. Their phony impeachment is over mind reading, stating that they knew that Trump was trying to force Ukraine into doing (or announcing) an investigation. So why did' they wait for Trump to actually do what they thought he was going to do, and that would have made a much more solid case for them?

The answer is simple: They knew Trump would never withhold aid for that reason. They knew it had nothing to do with Trump forcing Zelensky to do anything. A complete lie. Because they knew that's not what Trump was going to do, they made it up that he was thinking it.

You talk about what 'Trump figured' and Dem 'mind reading'. Did Trump or anyone ever say 'that by announcing it publicly, it would make Zelensky more likely to stick to his word' or are you the mind reader here?

You asked 'why the Democrats didn't wait for Trump to actually do a quid pro quo'. Trump was withholding the aid until the whistle blower in his own administration went to the ICIG. It was only then the aid was released and the Dems got involved. If a kidnapper releases their victim when the police arrive they are still guilty of kidnapping.

more and more evidence of the democratic party splintering into factions that will result in the democratic party splitting...if not before the election----soon afterwards
"We’re losing our damn minds": James Carville unloads on the Democratic Party

The Dems have always been made up of factions but before you celebrate remember there is no comparable term in the Dem lexicon as 'RINO'.

Blue dog comes to mind.

I think Hillary has been so distraught
because the election was supposed to be rigged, at the polls
but, someone fucked up

Paper ballots

I think pelosi and waters have been rigging their elections

I wonder Beto ever shaved? Looks like he has no facial hair at all. Think he's a tranny?

Jo

That's the "in" look I would say. Beto wanted to connect with the younger crowd. Didn't work out too well for him.

Blue dog is not derogatory, at least not to me. Or to them:
The Blue Dog Coalition is an official caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives comprised of 26 fiscally-responsible Democrats, who are leading the way to find commonsense solutions. They are pragmatic Democrats, appealing to the mainstream values of the American public.
Anyone in the GOP refer to themselves as a 'RINO'?

It didn't used to be a derogatory term.

Funny thing is...most of them got primaried.

Can't be a badge.

Given the aid was released ahead of schedule, that's a complete lie. Trump was under no obligation to release the transcript, but he did nothing wrong so he had no fear in doing so. The idea the complaint was the only reason Trump released the money is just a leftist talking point. Nothing to support that theory.

Alas, the Dems are just as angry as the GOP. Does not bode well for the country. I'm constantly apologizing to my son for the politics of the country he's inheriting.

Well, we gave them to him.

We took a long time getting there.

It will take a long time to correct.

First thing is to reduce the amount of money going to D.C.

It makes the game that much less important.

Which came first, the release of the aid or the whistle blower complaint? Was there any other reason given for the delay? No speculations please.

Trump doesn't have to give a reason. A President (like all the others) can hold up the aid as long as they like. It's no secret Ukraine is a corrupt country, and it's not out of the question that Trump would hold up aid to check out what other UN countries are contributing besides us, and to make sure the money is not going to be misused. Remember that Zelensky was not President for that long, and Trump didn't really know the guy.

The better questions is why didn't the Democrats wait until Trump actually got something before releasing the money if that's what they really thought he was doing? They didn't have to announce anything about the whistleblower until then.

James Carville understands something most Democrats don’t: How to win an election

Trump is licking his chops over a second-rate Democratic field

Just couldn't help speculating could you: 'it's not out of the question'?

You're misinformed. The whistle blower went to the ICIG and the ICIG went to the President's staffers. The President knew about the problem before the Dems announced anything.

That's what supposedly happened, but we will never know because our people couldn't even get his name yet alone question him. It's likely he's a rat for the Democrat party and went to them before anybody. That's the real reason Schiff Face wants to keep him away from the Republicans. Same with the 18th witness. Both would have to testify how Schiff was in on all this before anybody knew.
