I've been saying for a long time that the Republicans are going to be in trouble come next year. While we still have a long road ahead, these numbers should scare the crap out of Republicans.

Generic Congressional Ballot: Republicans 41%, Democrats 41%

Monday, November 14, 2011

For the first time in nearly two-and-a-half years, Democrats and Republicans are tied on the Generic Congressional Ballot for the week ending Sunday, November 13.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 41% of Likely U.S. Voters would vote for the Republican in their district’s congressional race if the election was held now, while the identical number (41%) would choose the Democrat instead.

And these numbers are coming from Rasmussen. While the electorate has shown itself to be extremely volatile, a big win for Obama could bring the House back to the Dems as they ride his tailcoats to election. Whichever party wins the White House will most likely also control the House and Senate.
