A Court of Appeals 4-3 decision Tuesday ordered a bipartisan commission that deadlocked last year to reconvene and produce new draft plans by the end of February.

The Democratic-dominated state Legislature will then vote on the new maps. If the maps are voted down by the commission, legislators would have the power to draw maps themselves.

How is it that the dems are blaming repubs for the congressional districts mapping when the 2 senate seats have been democratic since 1959 and 1999 and the house has been democrat since 1959.

The 4-to-3 ruling by the State Court of Appeals effectively wiped out the highly competitive districts that helped Republicans flip four seatsand seize the House last year. That map had been drawn by a special master after the courts threw out an earlier Democratic map because it ran afoul of state gerrymandering laws

Looks like the dems were trying to play funny with the district mapping that they had to hire a special master to draw the districts. The dems didn’t like how that turned out so now they are suing to have a redo…and this time, they want to be the ones who do the drawing.
