Glad McCarthy is gone. But to call Johnson a conservative is stretching. His voting record wasn't much better than McCarthy's.
But all eyes are on him atm. And he'll almost be forces to do things conservatively. Which is usually the norm when a democrat is in the white house.
So we'll just have to see what he does, and not pay much attention to what he says.

I hope he turns out better than Ryan and Boehner.

Some of the key matchups are also seen as a referendum on GOP presidential contender Donald Trump, 77, who now leads President Biden, 80, in five of the 2024 race’s six battleground states.

Tuesday’s most competitive races include gubernatorial contests in Kentucky and Mississippi, along with state legislature elections in Virginia that will determine whether Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin can win a majority there.

The outcome of ballot initiatives in Ohio, a Pennsylvania Supreme Court race, special congressional elections and other state contests will also help Democrats decide whether they have a winning message for next year’s general election with Biden at the top of their ticket.

The results will come as Biden is battling mounting pressure to step aside over everything from his dismal poll numbers to concerns about his age.

Some districts are closing schools Tuesday to make way for voters, so check your locality for more information.

Virginia is going to interesting given the money that has been pumped into it by both sides.

Hopefully we can oust the dems from our Virginia Senate and hold the House to give us the trifecta to undo the damage the dems did to our Commonwealth in the two years they held total sway.

The dems have been harping on abortion while the gop on crime....I guess we will see which issue holds sway as something to run on.

Hope springs eternal the gop will prevail but it will be a close thing.

My prediction is 65% of the wins will go to the right, but not everything.

Here in Pennsylvania we have some hotly contested races. State Supreme court, DA races in Allegheny county (Pittsburgh) the incumbent Democrat lost the primary to a Soros stooge, the GOP wrote in the incumbent and he is running on the GOP line even though he is a Democrat. DA race in Delaware county the GOP has a chance to oust a incumbent Soros stooge. Sone local races maybe hot too. that is about it.

Unfortunately, that yoke is around the neck of the party and if they take a somewhat sensible stance on abortion (as Nikki Haley has articulated), they lose that holy roller vote....and then the party's path to election wins will be even worse than it is right now.

No one is expecting them to do anything. But with that Trump endorsed McCarthy in there, something got done. More spending, another debt ceiling increase, billions to Ukraine.......
Hopefully the congress won't get anything done at all.
