Jillian, please read LadyLiberal's post above. I can't agree with you on this one. The SOPA is a disaster of a bill, extending government powers over the Internet way, way too far.

My only problem with this thread is that the idea of net neutrality is being lumped in with the SOPA, in an example of typically libertarian government-phobia. But there's a difference between phobia and rational caution, and there are some powers the government simply SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED WITH. That includes this ability to shut down web sites without due process every bit as much as it does the power to lock up citizens on suspicion of terrorism without due process.
