Is the Democratic Party waking up?

Ya actually started with Its trumps fault the dems are so over the top

From the diplomad
End of a diddy's about sniffy

That will leave the Democrats with an avowed Marxist, or what we Cold War veterans would call a Communist, a completely fake gay white version of the fake black Obama, a couple of lesser lights who have managed to keep their "accomplishments" well hidden from view, and a fabulously wealthy fraud who is financing his own campaign and repudiating his accomplishments as mayor of New York to gain the favor of the "woke" crowd.

The DiploMad 2.0: Corruptocrat Joe Shuffles to the Door . . .

Mac wasn't concerned that OBAMA wouldn't be too far over the top, but let Trump talk about restoring America's #1 position greatness and excellence, and it was just too much for Mac and the democrats?
I can understand you don't see anything unusual about Trump and his behaviors. I get it. To you, the cartoonish hyperbole, constant personal attacks and general instability are perfectly normal.

But for the majority, they are indeed unusual (even some Trumpsters have the balls to admit it), and the point is that the response from the hard Left would be similar.
.

Not normal in the sense that it is a society norm.

But normal insofar as personal life choices and behaviors.

Slight difference is that while Trump's antics can be unusual, his policies aren't. The antics of the left's candidates may not be as unusual, but their policies will "fundamentally change the US", according to Sanders. Sorry, but people need to wake up and be adults. Get over the hatred for Trump, the person, along with some of his childish antics, and focus on his policies, which are, in a very large part, working. If one of the left gets elected, he/she may be a smooth talker and say all the things that gives you that warm, gushy feeling, but the country will collapse both economically and socially.
I actually agree for the most part, and it's obvious that the Democratic Party has jerked to the Left. Again, though, I look at that as a psychotic reaction as much as anything else.

At the same time, Trump is getting away with things that would have been scorned by the GOP just four years ago, especially fiscally.

I'm just relieved to see that the Democratic Party hasn't gone COMPLETELY off the rails. It has only one wheel remaining, but I'll take it.

Which candidate is not off the rails? I don't know one with a legitimate chance that would not destroy the US as we know it, given help from a Democratic Congress.

His policies are the same Republican Rat Poison they've been feeding us since Nixon that have destroyed the Middle Class.

He's just more open about the racism to get those last few stupid white people to vote against their own economic interests.

I said "party", not candidates. Most of the candidates are clearly playing to the base more than others. I know that people like Biden and Klobuchar are not considered moderate by the GOP, but they haven't lost their marbles. They're just not attractive candidates.

Even a thread like THIS can get the Trumpsters all pissy and defensive.

The Republican Party needs many more like Trump when it comes to the "talk"! Then they will be just like the Progs. It seems to me they are the ones who have gotten defensive. Why? Because no one ever talked back to them in the same manner they have demeaned and destroyed people for decades.

Of course you do. You can't POSSIBLY see why a kid working two minimum jobs to pay off his college debt would POSSIBLY support Bernie other than a "psychotic reaction" to Trump.

I don't support Bernie (yet), but I totally understand why he has support. Just like I understand why the White working class supported Trump over guys like Jeb Bush.

Maybe what both parties are rejecting is the Wall Street Politicians who have no idea what working class folks are going through. While Trump is a fraud, Bernie is the real deal.

Former Bill Clinton adviser Mark Penn: Sanders drags Democrats to the left; will it be 1972 all over again?

Of course Clinton, like JFK, would get zero traction in today's Democratic Party.

You say that like it's a bad thing. Yes, if we found out today that Clinton was a serial rapist, he probably wouldn't get any traction. that would be a good thing.

Many are fine with the rhetoric just getting nastier. I don't think it's a coincidence that the divisions are getting deeper at the same time.

But I also know that many are fine with that, too.

Since the day Trump was elected, I've been concerned he'd be so over-the-top that the Democratic Party's response would be over-the-top, too. Sure enough, that's what we've seen. And, predictably, ugly politics now pollute damn near every part of our society.

But I've also been hoping that just enough sanity would remain in the party that it would be able to see some boundaries. Maybe that's happening now, too: Centrist Democrats rethink alliances as Biden crumbles

This madness has spawned the rise of nutters like AOC, Talib & Omar, not to mention this largely whacko crop of "presidential candidates", especially Bernie and Warren. Maybe the more pragmatic elements of the party still have enough influence to stop the freakin' madness.

Here's hoping.

From the linked piece:
“If Bernie ends up being one of these frontrunners, he’ll have to moderate. I’m not going socialist. Never been a socialist,” Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) said. “If he doesn’t change, I’ve got a dilemma there. We’ll see. But we’re talking about hypotheticals. I think there’s going to be a lot happening between now and then.”

The soul-searching within the establishment wing of the Democratic Party comes after Sanders solidified his frontrunner status in Iowa and New Hampshire, which produced a pair of cringeworthy finishes for Biden. The former vice president did so poorly in New Hampshire that he ditched his own election night watch party to head to South Carolina, possibly giving an opening to Bloomberg, who skipped the first four contests.

“I’m feeling a momentum shift to Bloomberg right now,” said Rep. Lou Correa (D-Calif.), who endorsed Biden in the summer and plans to stick with him.

One of the most glaring examples of the change in tide on Capitol Hill is a trio of Bloomberg endorsements from the Congressional Black Caucus on Wednesday — a not-so-subtle show of force against Biden, who remains the favored candidate among black voters nationally.

The usual response to anything is "Both sides are guilty".

Lol mac voted for H Clinton. Apparently decency and "moderation" is huge corruption, waging war against countries for no fucking reason and masturbating to the death of innocent civilians. And calling half the american voting block deplorable.
What a moron.

The "establishment portion of the Democratic wing" is no different than the "establishment portion of the Republican wing".

People are tired of one party rule. When you have Democrats saying they are afraid of things like making sure everyone can affordably access health care it's about time to start breaking things.

Nice Trumpian response there.

Cool.

Fuck Trump and his bullshit. I didnt vote for Trump and wont vote for Trump. Nice short sightedness mac. You know, the same shit you blast daily.
And yea, very trumpian while i basically defended a couple authoritarian socialists running against him. Dumbass.

You misspelled "forcing other people to pay for peoples healthcare"

What has he done while in office that is racist? What has he said? Please don't quote the Charlottesville thing, that just makes you look even more ignorant.

Ah... but excluding calling you a moron, is he wrong?

Is that how you define Medicare? People seem to really like that program.

Some of them may be waking up from their 4 year binge. Seemingly, with a bountiful hangover. Those that had their beer goggles on and are currently accessing what is lying next to them in bed and they don't like what they see. Those that climbed into the bed with them are coming to the same conclusion.

LMAO. This is some of the best entertainment I've seen since the Tea Party.

I hope our duopoly blows up and results in five or six parties. (-"Everything starts as someone's daydream" - Niven)

Trump is the most immature president we have ever had. He never knows when to shut up. He has the awareness of a dead fly.
