The Socialist pond is funded by everyone, even by the utter vast majority that don't fish.

A Capitalist provides a better pond because he/she wants to reap better by sowing better, that's the incentive. Everyone has the choice if they want to foot the running costs of the pond by going fishing.

So Capitalism provides incentives and choice, Socialism shares the misery when it's idea inevitably collapses.

You can be a Socialist and live in a Capitalist society but you can't be a Capitalist and live in a Socialist society.

So you are more than welcome to go and risk all your money and assets and set up a large company where all the employees that suffer from no risk to share all your profits, and you can be on the same wage as them for your gallantry. Then when you go bust, go to your old Capitalist boss, get your old job back, head down, and be a good boy/girl.

If I want to risk my capital to run a business and you're my employee, don't except a slice of the profits for nothing. The agreed wage that you accepted is your reward/payment for your effort and time. Give me $500,000 capital, I'll give you some shares. Your capital is at risk, and the reward for that risk is dividends (a share of the profit). If you want no risk, then you get no profits, no reward. And it's as simple as that.

When you want a share of the profits with no risk, that's called, "Wanting your cake and eat it".
