Of the listed 25 or so sexual prohibitions, most of them are related to incest. 1's about homosexuality, another's about women during their menstral cycles, another's beastiality, another adultery, rest are incest. And yet, God says first cousins and uncles-nieces are especially blessed unions.

"Marrying a Niece or Cousin

Dear Rabbi Brody, am I allowed according to Halacha to marry my niece or my cousin? Would there be any medical or genetic dangers? Thank you, NK from the Great Neck area

Dear NK,

Your superb question is mentioned in the Gemara, tractate Yevamot, 62b, on the bottom of the page. Indeed, our sages both encourage and bless anyone that marries a niece. Rashi states that the Gemara is referring specifically to the daughter of a sister; since a man naturally loves his sister, says Rashi, he will have a special affection for a wife who is the daughter of his sister."

And despite the prohibition, Lot's daughters conceived children by their father.

"Lot (/lɒt/; Hebrew: לוֹט, Modern Lot, Tiberian Lôṭ ; "veil" or "covering"[1]) is a person mentioned in the biblical Book of Genesis chapters 11–14 and 19. Notable episodes in his life include his travels with his uncle Abram (Abraham), his flight from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, during which Lot's wife became a pillar of salt, and the seduction by his daughters so that they could bear children.

Christians, Jews and Muslims revere Lot as a righteous man of God.[2] According to the Bible, Jesus is a descendant of Lot through David's great-grandmother Ruth, who is descended from Moab, Lot's son through one of his daughters."

While one might dismiss all this as crazy religious stuff, it's actually legalized in-law as per the religious 'okaying' of it in some states like Rhode Island, and New York.

So, the redneck joke of "going to a family reunion to pick girls up" has its actual roots in the Jewish religion? Interesting… Jews were rednecks before the rednecks became rednecks...
