I read somewhere that it is replaced by caffeine, but here it says that they still use it

Based on unscientific and imperial rhetoric, coca became a universally prohibited crop, legislated in the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs in 1961 and sustained even today. With just one exception: the United States is the world’s only licit importer of coca. Coca-Cola, arguably America’s most famous company, uses the plant in question wholly legally to achieve its renowned and profitable signature taste. Abundant profits from the crop are legally sanctioned for pharmaceutical industries, Coca Cola and its owner, Stepan Company.

Did you even bother to read your own link? Yes, the cocoa leaves are sent to pharmaceutical companies and they extract the cocaine alkaloid out of them, and the remaining product (leaf residue without the cocaine alkaloid) is sent to Coca Cola for use in their drink as a flavor enhancer.

“The coca leaves are shipped from Lima to Stepan Company in the US, who then extracts the alkaloid cocaine from coca and sells it to pharmaceutical companies based in the UK, Scotland, Germany, Japan and the US to be processed into an anesthetic and used for, eye surgeries and other medical purposes, with the remaining juice sold by Stepan Company as an aromatic to Coca-Cola.”

Yes, unprocessed cocoa leaves contain cocaine. However, what is sent to Coca Cola is the remaining leaf product with the cocaine alkaloid taken out of it, so no, it doesn't contain cocaine.

However, they used coca, I didn't know that.

Yep. Still used but without the cocaine. This article from Feb, this year.

Coca Cola has always used juice extracted from the cocoa plant in their drink. It's one of the main reasons for the name "Coca Cola" (cola made from cocoa). When it was first invented (by a pharmacist no less who sold it as a health drink), it did contain a very small amount of cocaine, but, with the turn of the century, they changed the formula to take out the cocaine (didn't want a bad public image problem).

However, the amount contained in the drink wasn't enough to have an effect on people, it was just a byproduct of processing the cocoa leaves for the drink.

As far as cocoa leaves themselves? If they are unprocessed (meaning raw), they do contain very small amounts of cocaine, but the negative effect of the drug is negated by all the other stuff in it (plant material and chlorophyl). Chewing cocoa leaves can give people energy and help them deal with working at high altitudes, which is what it was used for in the first place. My opinion? If you wanna chew cocoa leaves, go right ahead and do so. If you refine it into cocaine, use that substance only under the strict supervision of a doctor as cocaine can be harmful and stimulate a person to the point of their heart exploding.

in fact, coca is on par with cocaine in category 1 on the list of drugs

That is because the people who put it there don't really know much about the plant. Same could be said for marijuana, as it is currently a Schedule I substance federally, meaning it is highly addictive with no known medical benefit. Unfortunately, that is very far from the truth, as marijuana is not physically addictive in any way, and over the past couple of decades, it has been proven to be medically beneficial for many ailments. Yeah, I know, people will argue that marijuana can become mentally addictive, but so can shopping, working out, gambling, or a whole host of other things.

it's not about the image, they were simply banned under pressure from the left

Actually, it was about image, and it was because Coca Cola was trying to market itself as a wholesome beverage. And, that pressure came from the right, not the left as you seem to think.

The above link contains some facts and debunks a lot of myths concerning Coca Cola. For your edification if you care to read it.

And dude...................you gotta stop blaming the left for everything, your Troll Fu still sucks and is starting to get tiresome.

The year of coca prohibition roughly coincided with the arrival of Kennedy. In general, it is clear that the left always promote alcohol, and they dislike heroin and cocaine very much.

And what does it say on the bottle label in the US? Does it mention coca? In the Russian Federation there is no such mention, it says "natural flavors". I think it's about coca. But they don't mention it directly.

Coke was made concaine free in 1929. Kennedy was elected in 1960.

This, by the way, is also related. There is no doubt that the stock market crash 29 staged the left, they were already in fact in power. And the Prohibition was canceled in the 33, just with the advent of FDR

Why the left is pursuing coca is explained in sufficient detail in the article linked at the beginning of the topic. This prevents the enslavement of the peoples of America, including the South America. But besides this, there is a factor of competition with alcohol.
