Is all taxation theft?

A counterargument to what? You calling me a deadbeat? Sorry, my life isn't any of your business.

You characterized yourself as a dead beat and you posted a deceiving thread to exonerate yourself.

Whatever scorn you receive is fully earned.

Why are you incapable of addressing the OP?

Why don't you try starting a poll asking if all taxation is theft?

I think we all already know the answers to those questions.

I won't address the OP because you're more interested in attacking me than in a discussion. Why in the world would I respond to that?

You attacked me first, dipshit, and you did so in a completely dishonest way.

You really are 17 yo aren't you?

Huh? Was that supposed to be funny or even have a point?

If his retort is made of 'you don't know me' instead of providing me with even a half-assed counterargument on such an non-brainer topic, then all I can do is conclude he's an immature stupid little twerp.

A counterargument to what? You calling me a deadbeat? Sorry, my life isn't any of your business.

Wow, this went way over your head ...

Sweetie, I don't give a rat's ass about your personal life. What we are discussing here is what you said - your point of view - about taxes. That is all. What I wrote about a kid living in his mom's basement was supposed to be an analogy, I didn't know it was going to touch a nerve with you ...

The reason why I concluded you were just a teen is because it's mostly teens and other immature folk that hold this sort of hostile-to-all-authority point of view. It is also typical 'to grow out of it' as you live your life, work, actually pay taxes and realize what it's all about - when you realize that some people actually rely on you and you rely on others and there is NO TRUE INDEPENDENCE.

Kapish? You don't have to answer that question.

"You're a scrub. You're the little brother that lives in momma's basement never paying a dime for food or rent and just uses everyone elses's shit up."

So I'm not supposed to take that as an insult?

If you don't pay your taxes ... etc. You have some serious reading comprehension problems.

Except that's not what you said.

Government is a distribution mechanism of tax money. The roads you drive on were paid for by those taxes. The water sanitation plants were paid for by those taxes. All the infrastructure, safety, rule of law, etc. - that make life possible for you - was paid for by the taxes. By not paying taxes, yet still using all of these services, you are in effect STEALING. You're a scrub. You're the little brother that lives in momma's basement never paying a dime for food or rent and just uses everyone elses's shit up.

Got it?

I don't agree with Neser on very many things. But she is correct... You have reading comprehension problems.

Read the bolded statement and think about it.

Talk Radio has duped people. We have raised a generation of conservatives on false information.

Many of our greatest most profitable technological advances were developed by government and then given to the private sector, i.e., socialize the cost, privatize the profit.

The computer came out of the Cold War pentagon budget. Same for the internet which started not with Al Gore, but from government funded programs in academia and the Pentagon, the protocols for code switching were developed under a program called ARPANET in the late 60s/early 70s. Boeing, Raytheon, Bechtel, & Lockheed Martin would not exist without government subsidies. The government plays a huge role in funding pharmaceutical research. The consumer electronics boom of the 80s would not have been possible without the Cold War weapons, communications, and aeronautics programs, which developed most of the technology that eventually found its way into our fancy gadgets. It doesn't stop there. Biotechnology and Agricultural engineering were all developed by publicly funded government research before being handed to the private sector.

This is the dirty little secret of the private sector: they love government funding. They crave government. They depend on government research and development. They live for subsidies and bailouts. Big Business loves socialism as long as they're getting the benefit. (Free Market my ass!) There is a reason why big corporations have flooded Washington and occupy massive buildings staffed with armies of people looking for hand-outs. The private sector craves access to the tax payer's wallet. They crave the fruits of government research and development. The computer and internet would not exist but for the cold war Pentagon and NASA. The rest you may ignore.

socialize the cost and risk -- privatize the gain.

Attention Planet FOX: taxes have funded so much more than you will ever know. We haven't even talked about the entire American infrastructure of roads, bridges, rivers, and cities, without which commerce would be impossible. You've been lied to.

(do you know how many tax dollars the Pentagon chews up?)

(morons)

(NEW FLASH: public universities educated a generation of middle class Americans who went on to make great contributions. these universities also produced ground breaking research which has improved the lives of everyone)

(morons, morons, morons)

how did FOX News create so many idiots? how did this happen?

Preach on, Brother man. Several thousand years after your death, the very same people will be complaining about a "War on Londener Day."

Attention Planet FOX. You've been lied to.

I'm not disagreeing with you; you do have a point.

However.

Please, be careful with the word 'socialism' because it actually has a definition - a meaning - that shouldn't be ignored on a whim.

Saying that the private sector loves socialism is like saying God love Satan. It simply doesn't make sense. Private sector might love 'certain types of government control,' but that by itself doesn't imply 'socialism'. Some actions by the government might have a 'socialist' undercurrent, but they are not socialist per se.

I just wish people didn't just use this word so carelessly.

That's all, carry on.
