The US military has warned that Iran could produce enough highly-enriched uranium for a nuclear bomb in one year.

BBC News - Iran atomic bomb possible 'within six years'

Snip.

But it would take another three to five years to actually produce a "deliverable weapon that is usable," a senior general told Congress.

The warning came as Iran said it had produced its first significant batch of more highly-enriched uranium.

Meanwhile, negotiations have resumed at the UN on a possible Iran sanctions resolution over its nuclear programme.

Speaking to the US Senate Armed Services Committee, two military officials said if Iran's leadership decided to, enough highly-enriched uranium could be produced in one year to build a single atomic weapon.

Pat Buchanon - and extreme right conservative, on Morning Joe, said that the Iranians with 8,000 centrifuges, weren't able to enrich radioactive material to 20%, which is what is used in hospitals. He said for them to enrich to 99% is probably impossible. He said he wished the right would quit spewing this nonsense.

In America, only 6% of Republicans are scientists and those are probably the ones who aren't religious. How well do they do science in Religious Iran? Probably worse?

There are reports that say in 20 years, never, or they already have it. Please remember that you only have access to public information, and are not in the CIA/KGB or Mossad. The only time we will know the truth is when one of our intelligence agencies says they have them, The iranians say they have them, or Tel Aviv and Haifa are smouldering ruins. (Followed shortly by Tehran and and several other Iranian cities)

Umm didn't we hear this about 6 years ago?

This is the perfect time to declare to the world we won't use nukes, we're de-funding the military, and we are no longer interested in being a military superpower!

Go team Obama!

Odd, I wonder why our military and defense budget is increasing then. :eusa_think:

Also, we won't use nukes against non-nuclear countries that are apart of the NPT. Neither of which Iran would be.

But try again.
