Sounds like they need to give the citizens guns instead of money.

I don't object to basic income as a concept, but not this way.

In other places around the world, they are experimenting with the idea. What they wanted to do is give people something like 18K a year, but totally wipe out all social programs. When the calculations are done, it saves the taxpayers money and nobody has a right to complain.

So if we did that here, everybody would get 18K a year and you have to find a way to live on it or use it as supplementary income. It has many benefits to it.

First of all, we working people could no longer complain about welfare/ food stamp people. There would be no food stamps. We could eliminate HUD who ushers in their lowlifes into suburbs to destroy it. Lowlifes would stay in lowlife ville to make their check stretch further. We couldn't complain about how many kids some welfare queen has. They would have to find a way to support them on the 18K plus whatever they made in the private sector.

For working people, nothing could be better. You could payoff your mortgage much quicker. Save more for retirement since there would be no Social Security. You could send your kids to college and not sweat the expense. If you don't have healthcare insurance, you can use your annual check for that. If you make enough at your job and have all those things already, you could invest your government check every year and that would really pump up the stock market.

Instead of the social programs we have not that discourages people from working, basic income would encourage people to get a job and bring in even more income.

Simply, "injecting" that much capital in a local economy will produce a positive multiplier effect.
