CDZ In their minds...

Good luck with this topic being in the CDZ. I tried it and it got pushed to "General."

Particularly since people will consider it a coded thread meant to flame a certain gaggle of people supporting a certain presidential candidate in this post-factual election.

That candidate's name rhymes with Fronald Frump, BTW.
only code words I heard of was from the left. Calling anyone that used logic to crush ignorance a racist b/c he used code words.

I've yet to ever see someone from the Trump camp crush any ignorance with any logic. I've seen the reverse all too often.

Refusing facts in favor of an incorrect picture of reality protects the brain from realizing it is standing on shaky ground. The human brain does not like to be unsure about the world at all. That incites the release of chemicals in the brain that are uncomfortable, while continuing to believe even something that isn't real releases chemicals in the brain that are comfortable.

People refusing to believe a loved one is dead, even in the face of facts, for example. The brain doesn't like pain (who would!). In movies when someone thinks a 'monster' is in their room, the pull the covers over their face. Better the fearful thing go away than having to deal with the reality. It's scary. Or when people watch the news and something horrific is on video they turn away and don't watch.

Fear and pain are overwhelming emotions.

how do you think people justify making arguments which contain flagrant fallacies?

Good question.

The way I think and justify the making of fallacious arguments is by acknowledging argumentation is progressive and logic continuously constructive. I assist my justifying thoughts with emotional intelligence by the discrimination of each interlocutor's role in an alternating logical progression.

If we consider in agreement at least one logical constant or maxim, the attributing functioning variables joined to the constant are potentially endless and accumulative, therefore fallacy becomes only a pause of one interlocutor or another in the exchange: a gathering, compilation, reproduction and appraised contribution to that which was and to that which will still be; only one part of the improving processes of logic, which if complete can still be made more efficient, and if not complete can be made critically pertinent through more efficient analysis.

you are a perfect example of the op.

you just stated that all trump supporters are wrong.

you are who the op is talking about, let the irony sink in.

Actually, that's not what he wrote, not by a longshot. What he wrote is that he's yet to see Trump supporters who have overcome ignorance using logic. Going from that very specific statement about his own observations to the very broad "all Trump supporters are wrong" is a huge leap.

What you just showed by your remarks is that you are at times either unable or unwilling to closely read, and with integrity in turn remark upon, what others write.

Well I'll nominate myself for the prestigious position of "non-ignorant Trump supporter" since I have at times argued for his positions in a logical fashion.

Okay...You certainly can nominate yourself for that "position."

Would you rather vote for it in a semi-democratic fashion?

my logical leap is dead on, and you know it to be so.

but to humor the grammar nizas; 'you just stated that all trump supporters have been wrong up to this time.'

happy?

now pardon me, I need to sharpen my razor to go split some hairs.

I meant to say exactly what I said: I've yet to ever see someone from the Trump camp crush any ignorance with any logic. I've seen the reverse all too often.

Here's what I DID NOT say: "All Trump supporters are wrong."

And it's spelled "pedal."

so I'm right, just reworded what you said.

smacked you so hard with irony that you had to go spilleng niza to get back at me.

thus further proving you are one of the people the op is talking about.

I'd like to keep any sort of partisan comments out of this thread and particularly ones based on anecdotal evidence. Both sides are guilty of this practice.

How about we discuss your signature? no [sic] one of significance or merit is 'advocating' [sic] for 'socialism.' [sic]

No one? Not one single person? Not even candidates for president? World leaders? Talk about fallacies and bald-faced lies. Sounds like that's all you're about.

??? Happy? It's not about my jolity.

And, no, I don't "know it to be so." How can I when you've inaccurately paraphrased the other member's remarks? You focused your remark/rebuttal not on the subject of the sentence, "I" (Gary given that I didn't write the post), but instead on the object of the predicate. The man described his observations and you extrapolated them to mean something he did not say. Do you truly not see that in the sentence "all Trump supporters are wrong" that the subject is "Trump supporters" and not Gary?

The apt response to his remark is to cite valid and sound uses of logic by Trump supporters and show they are not exceptions to the behavior exhibited by Trump supporters. Short of that, there's not much to say about his remark; he's seen what he's seen.

Now it may be that Gary thinks all trump supporters are wrong (universally wrong or otherwise), but he didn't go that far (unless he's done so in a different post and that's what you have in mind). Because he didn't, however, if you give a damn about it, you need to ask him if he thinks they are all wrong, and if so, wrong about what.

no one of significance or merit is ‘advocating’ for ‘socialism.’ CC Jones

that's from your fellow leftist and usmb poster, that claims to have a deeper under standing of everything, until called out to prove it.

When I proved him wrong, with video from bern and links to what hillary supports, he left the thread.

poor guy, couldn't stand the truth
