In The 21st Century Leftists, Blacks, and College Students Have a Monoply on Rioting

That the only race that does this is blacks. White Tea Party rallies are the picture of civility.

Did you read the OP, by any chance?

Significantly more than half of the riots that have occurred in the last decade have been made up of white college students.
You're young. You didn't live through the 1960's. So am I, but I'm not as ignorant of history.

You're right, I am too young to have lived through the sixties. But the sixties ended 45 years ago.

I'm confident that I have a fairly comprehensive grasp on the "history", but we're talking about today.
Today blacks are burning down their neighborhoods, "burn this bitch down" and there are no white comparisons.

There never were.

And you say that I'm "ignorant of history".
Yes.

I am.

In your extensive studies in history, did you ever find mention of the "Battle in Seattle"?

You should be able to remember that one yourself, you can't possibly that young.

Did they burn down the neighborhood? They didn't, did they?

The rioters in the "Battle in Seattle" did more than $20 million dollars in property damage.

Do you think the damage from the Baltimore riots come close to that?

The Brand New Senior Citizens Center that they burned down was worth $16,000,000 alone. So yes, I believe that they did beat you out on property damage. Baltimore is burning - Business Insider

You realize that the "source" of that was a second-hand story posted on Twitter, right?

It's nice to see that Business Insider takes their reputation so seriously.

Well, that is better.

Nevertheless, the fact that it was a "16 million dollar project" does not mean that it was worth 16 million dollars at the point it was burned down. From what I've be able to find, construction was nowhere near completion.

Perhaps you're right, maybe Baltimore will end up costing more, but I think it's unlikely.

And I guess we should add inflation to the mix, although, I don't know how much that will affect it since construction is still relatively cheap after the housing crisis. Seriously though, I thought there was much more damage done in Seattle. I think you're under estimating it. Either way they did more damage than the Seattle riots per hour. You can thank the Baltimore Mayor for that one.

Well, according to some random internet inflation calculator, $20 million in 1999 dollars is about 28.1 million today.

But I think that's overdoing it. More accurate tallies will come out in the next week or so, if the extent of property damage from this goes over $20 million, I'll concede the point.

Ewwwww .... that's quite a bit of inflation. Does homeowners insurance cover riots?

I watched his on TV too. You know they accomplished absolutely nothing but an insurance payment to the local property owners.

Yes, I do know that.

In The 21st Century Leftists, Blacks, and College Students Have a Monoply on Rioting

There's been a lot of talk about rioting around the forum so I figured I would tally up all of the riots of the 21st Century to see if I can establish a trend. I pulled the below riots from Wikipedia. List of incidents of civil unrest in the United States - Wikipedia the free encyclopedia . For those of you wondering why there are so many black mob attacks missing, evidently the usual black mob attack doesn't count as rioting/civil unrest because they did it for no other reason then to have some fun or steal some loot and they lasted for only a few minutes to a few hours without a major police presence. My findings are the following.

In the 21st Century United States there have been

1 Cuban Riot
1 Puerto Rican Riot
7 College Student Riots
14 Leftist Riots
10 Black Riots

Typical race-baiting racist post we see here on USMB.

Old white tea baggers don't have anything to riot about. All their rage is impotent.

What you're seeing in Baltimore is what's called real rage. Their actions are not legal, nor justified, but we (smart people) understand the root causes.

Young people have generally been the rioters since the beginning of civilization, older folks know better and have more to lose.

Wikipedia is never a good source. But it'll do for the purposes of this forum.

That sounds like a guy with an MA in History.

The noose and the rapist, the fields overseer
The agents of orange priests of Hiroshima
The cost of my desire, sleep now in the fire!

Oh wait, that was the Battle of Los Angeles. My bad. But you gotta admit, it takes genius to turn feedback into a guitar solo.
