I’m not sure why progressive policies aren’t common sense to anyone

The specific policies do vary, but the overall goal is that no one working 40 hours a week should live in poverty. 3 people own more wealth than the bottom 50% of Americans. Doesn’t that bother republicans? 78% of workers in contrast, live paycheck to paycheck. Does anyone actually think the GOP will do anything about this?

American progressive politics have nothing to do with communism and paying everyone the same regardless of the work. It’s about strengthening the middle class and helping to alleviate poverty.

The government shutdown spotlights a bigger issue: 78% of US workers live paycheck to paycheck

they were living pay check to pay check under obama too.....

Government takes power away from the people to run their own lives....progressive people are pro big centralized government....I don't want a huge government body ruling my life...especially a global government which is what progressives seem to favor....

All of those things in spite of progressive politics being the undercurrent of the national body politic since Teddy Roosevelt.

Your subversive communistic policies have failed, and you creeps use that as evidence that you need even more power?....I think not.

How you going to strengthen the middle class when they support sweatshops in China for cheap goods?

I question your statistics that 78% percent of workers live check to check. That aside, America only guarantees that you live free but that means you are free to make bad decisions for yourself. Unfortunately a large percentage of Americans do just that.
Bad financial decisions matter, but that doesn’t somehow explain away the huge rise in poverty over the years. People have always made bad financial decisions.

Did you know John D. Rockefeller if alive today holding the same assets he had would be worth over four hundred billion dollars?

Do not believe me?

John D. Rockefeller - Wikipedia

Weird how the Progressives forget this stuff...

In America the person can work to become rich and it is not the government job to steal from someone pocket to give to you because you refused to study or work for what you want in life.

Running your own business was once the American dream but today youth dream is taking from someone pocket while never working a day in their life.

You believe everyone should be paid the same amount through the government and the government will pick your jobs for you.

Also take for a moment let say you get one of your Progressive wish to come true and get Universal Healthcare do you truly believe you will be treated like the President?

If so then you have never seen how Universal Healthcare works and the elites walk in and are seen while you wait in V.A. clinics hoping they can schedule you for that bypass you need...

First-40 hours per week and live comfortably is not in the constitution-my wife and I both worked two jobs to put our kids thru college. Rich people have been around forever-I expect to get what I earn, not what someone gives me or what WE can take from them. In the sixties with a strong middle class, people worked hard to do a good job FIRST, and they knew the pay would come-raises and sometimes bonuses. I don't see that anymore, it's "show me the money". I am not a Republican and there should be tax adjustments getting more from the wealthy, but I don't see the average worker deserving of any more than he is getting now. If he changes then I'll say "give him more".

I still get a bonus at my age for what I do. Production and loyalty is something Progressives never understood and I am not a Republican either...

IF 78% of households are living paycheck to paycheck is true. IF!

Isn't that a personal choice? Are they not CHOOSING to have that bigger house? A new car, two cars, three cars, and toys?

Something else which is typically avoided by our Progressive Trolls. That 78% are CONFIDENT that the next paycheck will be there, and the next, and the next. They are confident that they will not lose their job, they will not be fired and, even if they are, they will get another one quickly. After all, we have far more jobs available than workers.

THANK YOU, President Donald Trump!

Why would you think Trump has anything to do with the well-being of workers? That’s just stupid.

Things like inflation and the cost of living matter. Wages are way behind on both. A lack of can-do spirit isn’t the problem. Millions of people have NO CHOICE but to live in poverty because higher wage jobs are scare and extremely competitive.
