If you are a person that prays you need to pray for Florida and the islands.

As always, we will stay. Family of first responders. We never evacuate.
Well, you take care. When I worked for the Forest Service, when others were leaving the area where the fires were, we were heading into them. Nothing like the fires we are seeing today. Kind of like the difference between Harvey, and previous rain totals from other hurricanes. A step up in magnitude.

Yeah get to high ground two days ahead of time, don't drive through 4 feet of water.
Does Florida even have high ground?

And the winds in this one could be the bigger concern???
And think with this one, the storm surge is as big a concern as the wind speed. Especially if Irma comes in so Miami is on the northeast quadrant of the hurricane.

I pray for all of the souls in the eye of any hurricane or cyclone. Bless them, keep them safe.

Irma looks to be devastating. I hope everyone stays safe and at the first sign its coming your way get the fuck out! Do not wait for our dysfunctional government to save you.
A lot of my family is in Puerto Rico. They've made it through CAT 5's before. Those people know what to do, but they're looking at months of clean up. Keep them in your prayers please.
I'm not a praying man but I will be thinking about their well being and hoping for the best
They're without power but otherwise fine. One said George in '98 was worse. They'll be able to tell more when they come out in the sunlight tomorrow. I hope they get power soon.

EDIT - to clarify by "soon" I mean in the next week or 2. They've got generators things are not looking good from what I've read.

Hurricane Irma: Trail of devastation across Caribbean as strongest ever Atlantic storm wreaks havoc - latest news

Hurricane Irma...185 MPH winds......Prettty typical. Not the 'strongest ever' by any means. Look at Allen in 1980......190MPH!!!

"The most powerful Atlantic Ocean storm in recorded history is sweeping across the Caribbean leaving destruction in its wake."

Rita - 180 mph, Wilma 185 mph......Yes high winds but certainly not out of the ordinary.

If there was a God wouldn't he just stop the hurricane from heading to Florida in the first place?

it's called free will to be an idiot or not to be an idiot. That's GOD. and Idiot would stay someone with a brain who can think LEAVES.

Weather has free will?

Depends whose controlling it ------------bahahahha

By all means, tard, entertain us and tell us who is controlling the hurricane

You mean Science can't validate it for you, why I thought science gods knew " EVERYTHING" they why's , how comes, , what's right, what is wrong..... Dam where is your Goddess of science at. lol

There will be a lot of broken hearts if Irma will hit Key Biscayne and the rest of Florida.

Key Biscayne

While I hate to see that kind of beauty destroyed, those people usually have other resources. It is the people that keep up those places that are unable to replace what they lose when this kind of disaster hits.

Wow that was close. It was nerve wracking.

We've been lucky so far and we got lucky again with Irma. But I know that there is Cat. 4 or 5 with our name on it. It's just a matter of time. Just praying our luck will not run out.

According to one of my neighbors that decided to stay put. The flood surge didn't go over 5 feet. There are no major destruction or flooding in Key Biscayne.

Flood surge wall (my dock) is 6 feet from sea water line blocked the water from coming to my back yard. But east side of KB suffered minor flooding.

My heart and prayers goes to the people on the west side of Florida like Naples, Jacksonville and other parts.
