Homelessness in the U.S. Declined Under Obama - CityLab

Since 2010, the nation has seen double-digit drops in homeless families (23 percent), individuals experiencing chronic homelessness (27 percent), and veteran homelessness (47 percent). While some states, such as New York, saw increases in homelessness over this time period—especially over the last year—nationwide, the number of people experiencing homelessness on a single night in 2016 fell 14 percent since 2010.

Yeah, shoveling taters for a brief photo op is about all Obama did for the homeless.

How many have you taken in, Penelope?

The Democrats have been hounding Trump since he first took office. Between consistent investigations and impeachment attempts, he's focused his time on that instead of problems like the homeless. But it's Trump's fault.

Our suburb is plagued by HUD people. They are destroying our suburb like so many others across the country. What Trump should do is limit HUD residents to lower income areas, and use that money to help some of these homeless people. Of course, the Democrats would be howling at the moon by interfering with their social engineering projects, and use race (as they always do) to keep them in place, and to hell with the homeless.

So we can have Hud in the same part of town, bs on that. Soon they will be run out of the cities, it will be for the wealthy,

You know the wealthy never wanted to live in the cities, too many factories,

now they want the cities back.

So the poor can move on our in the country along with the homeless. Its good to see the homeless and Hud people living around you, you can rejoice your not one of them, for you might become one of them.

We need to start spending money on mental health issues as alot of these people have mental illnesses and until this nation steps up to recognize this nothing will change.

Why would you celebrate these lowlifes destroying once nice places? Not only nice places, but cost our government more money than in lower income housing units; money they could use for the homeless.

It's a real simple theory: If you take 3/4 cup of fresh wholesome milk, and mix that with 1/4 cup of sour curdled milk, you only have one thing, and that is a cup of bad milk. It's a shame our government has yet to learn this simple lesson.

Celebrate that they are here? Ask the police if they are celebrating since they've been over to my HUD neighbors at least a half-dozen times since they moved in two years ago. Ask my tenants if they celebrate being awakened at 2:00 am on a work night with them coming home drunk and stoned, yelling at each other and slamming car doors. I'm certainly not happy looking at all that garbage strewn across their backyard where I have to look at it every time I leave my house. Ask the people on my street if they celebrate looking at their empty garbage cans for four days after the garbage pickup day.

Sorry, them being here is nothing to celebrate. I'd celebrate much more of the government didn't pay for suburban housing and instead, housed them far away from me and my neighbors. That would be something to celebrate.

and we know that is a low number. Hud no, and we know who is in charge of Hud.

DC is a little over 1/2 million, CA is 39 million +.

Curious, what is the Dem solution to this problem?

Reopen the asylums. Get them off the streets.

We have ours corralled into one section of town, and enough "No Loitering" statutes to keep them off the streets. All parks close at dark.

:wtf:?!

Reading and trying to follow your post, from Title to photos to the mentally challenged diatribe at the end, was just painful.

1. Why should Trump 'start a home' for the homeless out of his own pocket in an attempt to personally un-fu@k states and communities devastated by insane liberal policies that have turned city sidewalks into toilets and waste bins for used needles?

Perhaps the hypocritical millionaire Progressive Liberal Socialist Democrats - who declare America should not have any walls while building higher and higher walls around their multiple mansions to keep the 'little people' out - should pay more attention to their constituents living on the streets and crapping on the sidewalk and abandon their failed policies that have caused the problem. Perhaps Pelosi could open up the doors of ONE of her homes and offer homeless Americans a place to stay. Perhaps they can alter their legislation giving illegals free housing to require every illegal family given a free home to allow 1 homeless American to sleep on their couch....since it is American tax dollars paying for their free house.

2. President Trump started WHAT? The HOMELESS EPIDEMIC out in California? TESTIFY to WHAT? Are you still talking about the homeless problem or did the side effects of your 'TDS' kick in, causing what's left of your brain to drift off to something else?

* Proof that snowflakes suffering from 'Terminal TDS' can not focus, can not stay on topic, can not talk about anything else except the debunked, non-stop coup attempts and false narrative cover stories they parrot

Construction worker shortage poses obstacle to building new housing

Are living costs a factor?

Ironically, it is so expensive to live in California that workers on housing projects cannot afford the housing costs.

“We're actually bringing contractors out of state because it's cheaper for us to bring them from out of state and have them live here and pay for their housing than it is to use the contractors that are in the city because their numbers are too astronomical,” Rodriguez told DnA.

Plus, there’s an add-on if they have to drive a long way to work, like to Santa Monica or Malibu.

He says construction workers can name their price right now. And that only piles on top of the high costs of materials and land that add to the many factors making housing construction so expensive.

How's California gonna build all that grand new stuff if skilled craftsmen will not build it.............

Road whores is what we call them..........You will only get them with high pay and you provide a place to stay..........guess the illegals living on the streets will have to build it......LOL

DC is completely run by democrats
Penelope isn’t smart enough to know that.
She isn't smart enough to even buy a clue about how stupid she really is.
She seems to think that Trump (who she mistakenly calls tramp) can just step in and run a city as if the president is a dictator.
She seems to think that the president can run up the deficit by wishing it so. She does not realize that the House of Representatives are the ones that actually decide what money is set aside for what.
In her ( what passes) for a mind Trump is an all powerful dictator that she wants the House of Representatives to control because they are controlled by the party that tells her what to think. But it helps her sleep better at night if she can find something to hate him for.

Since in 2019 (June) tramp thinks the problem started 2 years ago, and the republicans were in full charge of congress for since 2015 minus 2019, they have done nothing, good for nothing republicans, except to give themselves a nice tax cut and cut social programs since he came to office in 2017.

California is getting 396 Million dollars from the FED to fight homelessness next year..............

They don't think it just started 2 years ago.........they know it took Decades of Dem policies to fuck up this state that bad............

The amount of Homelessness in California is virtually the same as it was a decade ago........I posted that link............Billions spent and the same number of homeless..........At some point your side needs to look at the policies CAUSING THIS..............but that would mean admitting that YOUR POLICIES SUCK.

Perhaps more important, Max, is to note that 99% of all the criticisms and attacks here are always against Trump himself, THE MAN, not so much his actual policies and accomplishments. Funnier still is that most of the personal attacks aren't even realistic. He's Orange, he's obese, he's banging his daughter or married a slut. He's a Liar! He's a Con! And even when they DO attack his policies, remember the weeks of criticism that tariffs never work? They no sooner said that and now here comes China to the table ready to fold.

They don't hate Trump for his hair, his skin, his clothes, diet or weight, they hate Trump because he is WORKING, and in doing so, proving everything they ever said is wrong.
