What makes you think anyone was not given faith?
Talking to atheists.
Calm down, mister.
This isn't a call to arms. I posted because I want to know if others see it as I do. It's a gift. Obviously not everybody is given said gift, or there would be no atheists.
That's logical, in my estimation.
If faith is a gift, then how can any fault be found in one who was not given it.
Okay, I'm talking about Christian faith, based on the Bible.
Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
I always thought that was a pretty cool verse, because it puts out there "Okay, well, don't go getting all cocky. Faith is a gift, this is like being born with blond hair and blue eyes." Check yourself.

Good passage to dissect. To me, I always thought that the grace of forgiveness was the actual gift. The gift itself is the reward for believing. Faith tends to come and go....at least for me, anyway.
I mean I always have core belief. But when it comes down to "walking the walk".....I flounder quite often.
Lastly....I sometimes think that some Christians have their own insecurities that drive them to demonize and lambaste others for their sins......so they can say..."well at least I'm not a __________"
Not judging them, mind you...we are all trying to get through this life the best we can. We all make mistakes and we all fall short of the glory of God.
Imo....faith can be cultivated, but the grace of forgiveness comes from God....not works.
I don't get it. Why even bother bringing it up if we all allegedly have it, - yet some very obviously don't.
My housemate cannot make that leap. Her mother works for the Methodist Church, and you'd think she would be so blessed, but no. She felt like odd duck out of water because faith is not logical, and she is very logical. It didn't make any sense to her. Period.
Doesn't look to me like she got the gift.
