ID law found discriminatory

Money, travel time and things like people being born at home.

You are the one who pretends its about being not good enough of an American to be allowed to vote

What does being born at home have to do with it? I have two siblings who were born at home and they are both able to obtain IDs, and vote. And face it, there are many people who are so uninformed and unwilling to become informed that their votes are little more than an exercise in popularity. They're more likely to make an informed vote on an "American Idol" or "DWTS" contestant than on an official who will be determining policy and laws that affect all of us.

Great, then pat them on the back and realize that everyone is not like you. Once you realize that everyone isnt you or your siblings you'll realize that there are people out there not like you.

Every explanation of how to do something is easy when you explanation involves someone else to do it. Think about when your wife asks you to fix a car problem...They always say "All you have to do is..." and it always sounds soooo simple
Fool! The car doesn't get fixed if you are not willing to do the work or pay someone to do it for you. If you want to use the car, you take some responsibility and see that the problem is fixed. You seem to be able to do that with your car. Why not with their ID's?

That is exactly why they do not like voter id.

Why do you guys spew something unproveable non sense conspiracy theory then proceed to jerk each other off by pretending the made up thing you just made up is real?

There isnt a way to cradle someones nutsack via the internet, but this is dam close.
You're right. Voter fraud IS unprovable since we have no way of knowing just who is casting a vote.
Tell me how you would keep me from voting in my name and then going to a different precinct and voting for my dead father without an ID or a very lucky instance of a poll worker actually knowing my dad?
There may very well be hundreds or thousands of fraudulent votes. There is almost no way to know and less that can be done to prosecute offenders.

I still remember that reporter interviewing those May 1 demonstrators who admitted they were illegal and one of them said "we vote too!" My brother in law has been a legal resident of this state and this country for more than 30 years but since he's not a citizen, he doesn't vote and wouldn't because it would jeapordize his chances of staying here legally. He has ID.

How can anyone be against requiring ID to vote? There's no reason not to and every reason to make sure those that vote are entitled to that right.

I know that, but the wife always make it seems so easy because she doesnt have to do it. Just like you thinking that obtaining an ID is sooo super easy just because it was easy for you. Everyone isnt you, understand now? Or just dont care?

I think its the latter.

81,938 voters in one state.

This is why the republicans want to have these laws to keep voters from voting.

Remember they dont want everyone to vote

Letting someone like TM vote is dangerous.

They believe every cock and bull story the Dems throw at them.

It doesnt, read the OP it says African Americans AND OTHER MINORITIES.

Glad I could clear that up for you

He quoted Chris. Read the big words above.

Ok, but I thought he would like to know it doesnt only effect African Americans, Sorry, I didnt realize this was a game of gotcha. I thought he wanted to really know.

Not in Chris's mind. He's the one who dropped "and other minorities".

How many lies has TM spouted in this thread?

Once again for the slow and stupid, FEDERAL LAW requires that each State VERIFY who is and is not eligible to vote and that ONLY those eligible ACTUALLY vote. FEDERAL LAW. There is only one way to do that, by Identifying those that register and those that vote.

Requiring ID does not disenfranchise anyone since all they need do is go GET an ID. And they have almost a YEAR to do so.

As for the whine about some Republican saying he doesn't want everyone to vote? Same with Democrats. There are Dems that say the exact same thing, in fact I am pretty sure TM has voiced the opinion us right wingers should not vote on this very board.
Is she currently banned?

Yup proving you're an American Citizen Non-Felon is very Racist. Man,what has happened to our country? Maybe it's time for the Socialist/Progressive nutters to get the boot in 2012? Wadda ya say America?

I guess I'm special. I can take the personal responsibility to get an ID.

No, not special, really, Conservative, actually.

It was extreamly difficult to get our son's ID, but we did it just the same. Funny, illegals could get driver's licenses here eaiser than our son could get ID.

His birthcertifcate, his social security card, our insurance card and our word as his parents weren't enough. After waiting more than 2 hours with a low functioning autistic adult, I had to go back home and get his disabled bus pass AND his school ID, and then they didn't want to accept the disabled bus pass, but the supervisor finally came out and told them they had to. Now why in hell should you think after we went thought that hell that everyone else shouldn't have to?

We're American citizens, our children were born here. If we have to go through that to get an ID, everyone else should have to do the same thing, and if they are unwilling to then they do not deserve the right to vote.

Why and in what way does this prevent only African Americans from voting?

According to a 2005 study by UW Milwaukee Driver License Status of Voting Age Population those without state-issued photo ID who would need to obtain one to vote include:

■23% of elderly Wisconsinites over the age of 65
■17% of white men and women
■55% of African American males and 49% of African American women
■46% of Hispanic men and 59% of Hispanic women
■78% of African American males age 18-24 and 66% of African American women age 18-24

Wisconsin Gov. Walker acts to suppress vote | The Stand
I'd be willing to bet that 60 to 70% of African Americans already have driver's licenses. I find it implausible that UW knows the age and race of every single citizen.... Or did they go down to Occupy Milwaukee and take a random poll, noting race and ethnicity of all participants?
And it's not just that. Most of these progressive morons are to stupid to even do simple math!

12% of the population is black. 14% Hispanic. 68% is what they call the evil white man. 17% of white men and women reported in those made up statistics is STILL more white men and women being effected than blacks or Hispanic.

As a matter of FACT...if truth really does matter, this would effect nearly as many white men and women as there are blacks or Hispanics as a population in this country TOTAL!

If we accept the 17% of whites, that's 34.7 million whites that would be effected and there are only like 36 million blacks and 42 million Latinos total in the population.

So the notion that this is some scheme against minorities is total BULL SHIT!

In sheer numbers...WHITES would be disproportionately affected. So WHY would the evil white man want to disenfranchise more of his brothers and sisters?

Dumb asses!

Oh, and before the numbnuts jump on the numbers...YES I rounded the population to 300 million just so I could do the math in my head. Don't like it...DO THE MATH. But it won't change the outcome and you might learn something!

what the Obama administration has been doing through his Justice department, should scare the hell out of all of us.

Showing valid ID is not racist in any way. Requiring a valid ID just makes it harder for the Democrats to rig Elections. And that's all this stuff is ever about. Their Race-Baiting stuff is so old & tired. I think most Americans are sick of it though. Without the Illegals,Felons,Deceased Citizens, and Fictitious Voters, the Democrats wouldn't win very many Elections. And they know this. Requiring a valid ID just gets in the way of their fixes. It has nothing to do with 'Racism.' It's just a scam.

South Carolina voter ID law rejected by Justice Department - latimes.com

Reporting from Washington— The Obama administration's civil rights office is stepping up its fight with the Southern states over voting rights, announcing it will block a new South Carolina law that would require voters to show a government-issued photo identification before casting a ballot.

The Justice Department invoked the Voting Rights Act on Friday and said the new photo-identification rule could deny the right to vote for tens of thousands of blacks and other minorities.

"According to the state's statistics, there are 81,938 minority citizens who are already registered to vote and who lack DMV-issued identification," Thomas E. Perez, the chief of the department's civil rights division, said in a letter to South Carolina officials. He referred to a driver's license issued by the state Department of Motor Vehicles, the most common form of photo identification.

81,938 voters

in north carolina.

These people exsist and your team wants their voting rights stripped to protect a non exsistant problem.

The facts a very clear.

You just ignore the facts
The fact is clear that you can't distinguish between two entirely different states.
Perhaps an intelligence test before voting would serve our country better. It might prevent people like you from causing harm to the rest of us.

Yer funny.

SC is not a blue state. It's not controlled by Democrats. Conservative Republicans are in control of the apparatus of gov't. So, how exactly would Democrats rig elections, again?

In fact, there are 8 states that have strict voter ID laws. With the exception of Hawaii, all the states are red states: Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Wisconsin, SC, Tennessee, and Texas. They're all states that are Republican-controlled.

I still do. And, if it makes you any less impudent, how would this prevent any particular group or groups from voting?
